I sincerely hope you're watching this game, so you can rectify your ridiculous and misinformed views.

Shooting more midrange jumpers is pretty much never an improvement.

I think you have to get pretty deep into game theory territory to determine whether that is true. The threat of the midrange jumper forces defenders to behave differently and opens up other avenues of attack.

Have people gotten over their Nervous Nellie condition about Harden yet? Really, this game ought to be the cure for everyone with the condition known as The James Jimmy Leg Syndrome.

The thing is...I've never seen a shooter be good at 3 but bad at mid range.

3 point shooters can usually hit the mid range shot guys.

Yeah, I feel a bit sorry for the guy. He lives in my neighborhood, but we've never met. Maybe I'll go by his house and sell him some Girl Scout cookies when my daughter starts selling them. Ask DD if he's ever heard of the Rockets.

With this team, he'll be the focal point of every defense. That said, he needs to learn how to use every part of the basketball court to shake up the opposing defense. Looking at the chart, teams will try to take him off the 3pt line and underneath the basket. Then that forces James to move to the middle. Now he can definitely pass the ball but he can also improve his overall game by learning how to use the middle. That's all i'm saying

As far as I know, he was banned for multiple reasons. Like having multiple accounts, for one thing.

All depends on what they work on. Novak is a beast from 3, his mid-range is mediocre.

In Harden's case, he's SO good at getting to the basket, that if he isn't shooting the 3, he's pushing to the rim. The in between game only happens if he gets collapsed on most of the time. Otherwise, he just goes for the finish or passes it out.

That's why there's so few shot attempts at mid range. If he has to shoot mid range, something has gone wrong. Either the clock is running out, or he's gotten somewhat trapped.

If you watch him play alot, he almost never stops for the turnaround jumper. He's always driving to get the And1 or put the other team in foul trouble.

    Here's some more specific data...

    2012 shot attempts per game
    Rim - 3.4
    3-9 feet - 0.9
    10-15 feet - 0.1
    16-23 feet - 1.0
    3 points - 4.7

Total shot attempts per game : 10.1

He basically hardly ever takes them because if he's that close already, he's either finishing the drive or passing out to someone with a better shot.

It's why he's so darn efficient... he rarely forces the shot.
