    Heres the real problem:

Mike Brown's defensive coach. The Lakers are now a offensive team with a coach who only knows defense. They need to spread the floor with shooters and run pick n roll instead of set plays.

People talk about egos, but really who has huge ego problems here? Kobe? Naw, he's already the alpha dog. Gasol? LOL yeah right. DH? He's got a big ego, but at the time everyone know he's the best player on the team. Nash? C'mon, that dude is a pro's pro and just wants to win.

The problem here is the princeton offense that Eddie Jordan tries to implement, and basically the half court schtick they keep trying to fit the Lakers into. The Princeton is a lot like the triangle, you want a lot guys moving around, the ball moving around and then somebody somewhere gets a good shot. But of their starting 5 only Nash and Gasol are good passers, the rest are either too selfish or too dumb, so its not going to work. More importantly the new Lakers don't have good shooters apart from Nash. Kobe's jumpshot is failing him, Gasol can shoot some but isn't that great, DH has no shot and Metta's really streaky but usually horrible. So all that screens and passing to get an open look is basically wasted.

Rather than all this BS they should just PNR Nash and Gasol to death and let Kobe, DH and Metta get shots when the defense gets broken down. Nash will find a way to blend all the talent seamlessly together, but he has to have the ball all the time, not see it pass from Metta or Kobe or DH who don't know where to send it next.

His role is to hit whoever is hot on the opposing team on the head with his elbow.
