    Because he may be getting much easier looks not being the primary focus of the defenses attention. Now that he will be those close shots may not come as easy (who on our roster will teams say we can't help off of?), so it would be nice if he had a mid-range.

    those charts are just showing their shot tendency, what about all the other things harden does that martin cannot do..

    forget the statistics, just watch the footage..

    Let's not act that Kevin Martin never dropped 50. Or that Kevin Martin is not 21th most efficient scorer in NBA history.

    James Harden vs. Heat:
    12.4 PPG 0.375 FG% 0.318 3P%

    James Harden vs. Lakers:
    16.0 PPG 0.358 FG% 0.250 3P%

    That's why OKC were comfortable trading Harden. He didn't show up in big games against teams they need to beat.

    Kevin Martin beats around the bush on the perimeter, with some quick forays into the middle hoping to draw fouls. James Harden is much better at penetrating and getting to the sweet spot with his length and skills.

    Exactly. Harden's smart enough to know that if he's so good at converting near the rim, why the hell should he shoot from 18 feet?!? Shooting from three-point range makes sense -- he's good from there and that extra point makes it worthwhile. Shooting from midrange is pointless when you're that good at getting to the rim and scoring there.

    Yeah after reading a couple responses. I stopped reading.
    Nonetheless, nice article. It'd be interesting to see if Harden can do the same for Rockets since he will be the 1st option... defense is going to collapse on him.

    he didnt show up in games the thunde rneeded him to... lol did you watch the video, hes one of the main reasons they were in the finals..

    kmarts career high came in OT.. get off the gas, okc traded him because they were going to lose him for nothing.. dont be dense.. again watch the tape, there is no comparison in the two players games.. martin is a volume shooter who needs to get to the line to remain efficient.. hes not getting 15 shot attempts in okc, hes not creating for others, and hes not averaging 20 with the thunder..

    Harden not only brings his game to Houston, but also the experience of being on a conference champion young team and USA Olympic team, you can't beat that.

    Last season was not typical of Martin. They should use Martin's stats in the last 3 or 4 years.
