Asik is going to develop nicely now that he is a starter here. J Lin will become comfortable and confident like he was in NY, and Harden is about to show the world he's on ___________'s level.

Now we have two question marks. Whether Harden can live up to his contract, and whether Lin can live up to his. :p Will be interesting to see how this turns out several years from now.

Why people mad, though? We wanted a star player and we got one, and a very young one to boot.

Teams have limited number of 5 year contracts they can give out. WB snagged it last year. (KD has one from previous cba)

    Awesome.

I still don't understand ANYONE that has a problem with this trade or this extension. A proven, legit, 3rd overall pick, in his prime, that has had to live in the shadow of two other guys for his entire NBA career.

High draft pick? Check. Hungry? Check. Extended/Secure? Check. Proven? Check. Clutch? Check.

And before anyone goes off the deep end about how he choked in the Finals, go look at Lebron against the Mavs year before last and tell me how that turned out. In the NBA you how to learn to take failure before they allow you any success.

What's with all the negativity? I'm not talking about just this post, I mean your posting in general

The fact that you have "u mad" in your sig just adds to the hilarity of it.

very few people are actually worth the max that get the max. some of it is a leap of faith, but considering what he's done in his first 3 years in the league, his age, his character, his super-human production per minute of play, his high percentage shooting, and all-around solid game ...he's a pretty good investment (if there is such a thing at $16 mil a year). This is today's NBA, and we are doing what we have to do.

I'm just glad we didn't spend this money on Gasol or Howard.

I think the Rockets *had* to sign Harden for the max... in for a dime, in for a dollar. The organization felt it necessary to get a max player, and Harden was the max player they got. Positioning Harden as a max player and they squabbling over dollars would have contradicted getting him.
