You are likely right. I just thought it was weird that Fox Sports SW showed the Rockets @ Mavs game on the 15th (or whenever it was). It was the Dallas commentators. I was just hoping that Fox Sports Detroit would be showing as well...
This is EXACTLY why blaming only one side (Comcast/Rockets/Astros) is counterproductive. The term "value", for a provider, has an extremely tight relationship with demand. Folks, Dish/DirecTV/UVerse are trying just as hard as Comcast to squeeze out every last dollar. If you don't b**** at both sides, the one you don't complain to (in this case, providers) will twiddle their thumbs and make zero effort to compromise and find middle ground. Some of you pay as much as $250/month to these guys ($3,000/year). They're making ENORMOUS margins, just as much as the Rockets and Astros. It's not at all unreasonable to hold them to a reasonable standard and expect them to compromise a bit and make the games of local professional sports teams available.
I swear to cheeseandrice that some of these people have been hit in the head very recently. There is one poster I will not name who is either dumb, has amnesia or is simply holding out misguided hope that they'll get to see the game not blacked-out tonight.

Comcast is in a lose-lose situation. Fixed number of seats, limited radio broadcast. If your product isn't seen then it is worth less. It's that simple. They are demanding money like if they are a mature network. That's why they are asking us for help. Sure your complaints/signatures helps you watch the games but more so it gets them the feedback they need to demand their rate. From my POV I don't want my home team which I fully support to gouge me further. The networks have to protect their customers.
Just called Uverse. No update. Told him I would be calling to cancel tonight if the channel isn't on by then. He took it down and told his supervisor blah blah blah. Truth is, I don't really want to cancel. Uverse has been good to me, plus I'm on a contract. It took nearly two months just to get cable at my new place so I don't want to put up with that again. I'll end up watching some sh**** stream tonight. To hell with everyone, even you.
This is sad but true, and the horrible reality of the situation we are in. I say screw Comcast and the Rockets. I'll find a way to watch them (we all know what I'm talking about), but I'm not spending a cent on even going to a game and I'm sure as hell not going to Comcast. I don't even think its in Comcast's best interest to even sign a deal with any of the major providers. Think of all the people that have switched to Comcast and all the sports bars that have to add comcast (with the ususal DirecTV) just to show Rockets games.

I have Comcast on the TV in my office. My assistant is on the phone with them now trying to figure out why it says we're not authorized to get CSNHD or CSN. They can't tell us why so far. Said they were sending signals to our cable boxes, but nothing. Well done, Comcast.

This is what I don't get. Why do you assume the networks are "protecting their customers"? Why do they get the benefit of the doubt? I don't trust my cable provider one iota. They're run by greedy corporations just as much as the Rockets and Astros. To me, what they're trying to "protect" is every last cent of their margin. Unless you KNOW the rate CSN is requesting, how can you make such definitive statements? Should the Rockets/Astros just give away their games for nothing? I don't have that expectation. First and foremost, they're businesses. Yes, taxpayers contribute to the franchises, so they should make certain concessions... just as cable providers should make concessions to people paying hundreds of dollars per month to them. Takes two to tango.
