No way. Red is the color of power and victory. I read a study a couple years ago where this researcher showed that teams wearing red won more often than others.
I think Harden can have what ever he damn well pleases. No way the Rockets trade away all those assets and not sign him to an extension. Whatever Harden wants, he will get.
It'll get done tomorrow. If not, worst case scenario is we match a max offer next summer. Either way, he's ours for a long time.
regardless we'll have him back. if he doesnt resign, then he will be a RFA at the end of this season and morey will match any offer for him so its a no brainer
I personally have a problem with this. Morey has been saying "Foundational player..." and hyping the move up in public...and then to go out and not give Harden the money he wants is not preferable. Not saying that Harden will hold this against him and bolt, I doubt it matters too much...but doing him a solid, giving him the deal he couldn't get from OKC even though they don't have to (actually wouldn't it be cheaper to wait?) looks good for Houston. Hope they get the deal done soon.
Good grief, DM has already said they were giving James Harden the max. If it does not get done today then it will have nothing to do with the amount of money being offered.
I don't go by what "DM Says" or what any player says. I'll be happy when it is signed period. I remember being told that Harden said he'd take less and to really believe it this time. It's a business and guys say a lot of things on both sides. I have no doubt Harden will get the max, which is what I clearly said above. But I believe if they wait around he'll be a RFA and the Rockets will be matching a Max offer instead of giving him his preferable one and the one he wants.
Yes, but is it a 4-year max? 5-year max? Maybe Harden will hold out for FA so he can sign one with a 5th-year ETO? Who knows what the hold up is. In OKC Harden wanted a trade kicker to take less money. It isn't just a matter of the money being the max.
He can only get the 5 year max from us since we have not designated it on any player BUT if he chooses to sign another contract for us to match then that will only be a 4 year deal since the max that can be offered by another team is about 4 yrs $60 million i think. It just makes too much sense for him to sign an extension...if not today then definitely after the season for sure
That's true, but maybe he prefers a 4th-year ETO from another team for us to match or he may just be using that as leverage to get a no-trade clause or something else in (I know you, Mr. Morey. No trading me to Charlotte!). There are more to negotiate into contracts than just money.
Hearing that Eric Gordon is out indefinitely, I am so glad we didn't end up with him or any other injury prone players like Bynum etc. Another plus for Harden
