I doubt about this. The Clutchfans BBS does not have the bandwide to handle the massive Chinese Lin fan. The vote for Lin will be in hundred thousands range.
these are just people's opinions. the true leader on the floor at least, will show up during the season.
Can we close this thread? The insecurity is too much too handle. The Rockets haven't even played one game, and we're already bickering about who the leader should be. Let's discuss this when the Rockets are on a losing streak or something.
Patrick Patterson? WTF? Harden is too quiet - he's like that 2nd or 3rd lieutenant who performs exceptionally well but has little to none leadership ability. If he turns into a bonafide all-star I can see him becoming a leader - for now he's not. Parsons has leadership ability but he's more like the good cop, the popular guy who'd rather be well liked and on the same level as everyone. He's more like a vice president or vice leader. Lin has had tremendous pressure and scrutiny on him since Linsanity occurred and he's handled it quite calmly. He's the defacto leader until someone proves otherwise.
Also, if one watched Linsanity last season, one would have seen Lin becoming the leader of the Knicks during the Knicks run. The undrafted 15th man was telling people where to go and what to do and yelling at teammates when they needed to be yelled at. That's part of what made Linsanity so great, that this nobody was not only scoring, but becoming the leader of the team, taking Melo's job away from him, and remaking a losing Melo's team in his own image, turning it into a winner.
WOW didn't realize people think Lin can lead a team, when he's played what 26 some odd games as a "leader"...Look, Lin wasn't leading this team anywhere, and Harden wouldn't either by himself....but is this a JOKE, at the NUMBER OF PEOPLE, who think LIN is the clear cut LEADER...c'mon...Harden has played deep in the playoffs, has single handidly won games because of his great play. Y'all will see, I just can't believe people think Lin can "LEAD" this team... It was going to be so hard for him to be any good at all, with people gunning at him every night night....Harden has experience...Lin does not...end of story...
Everyone's new. The only people that aren't new don't know any of the new people anyways. That's the perfect situation for a natural leader to emerge.
Kenny Smith was a good leader of men, and directed people around, not Dream, he said give me the BALL!...Look good PGs direct traffic, and dictate speeds...but c'mon Harden is a baller, a 2 guard that has prolific scoring, and defense ability, something LIN does not have yet....and he may never be a good defender... The leader of the team the true leaders, defend the best players, they out play others, they don't have to always "direct traffic" that is a PGs job to get people in THEIR SPOTS....if they aren't! Watch the games bro... Harden is good not because of the supporting cast, just watch...he finished the games, and when Durant or Westbrook weren't in the games, he'd torch people, starters, or the 2nd units....This POLL is a joke. It seems that LOF will be worse than the TOF- YOF at least had some sense to themselves...Lin will be good, a leader he should be, but is he the "LEADER" the MAN day in night out...no Harden will prove this.... Harden will us all forget about TSlack, and Kevin Martin-guys that were coming here, and had NO HEART...at least Lin has that...he can not take over a game quite like Harden can...espesh when their best player can come help trap Lin, Lin is horrible with the Trap D.... In fact if Harden had not been picked up Lin would have been trapped a ton...I expected
I think a lot of people on this thread misunderstands what being a leader is. A leader on the court is not just a person that can play well. Playing well is an important component, but it is not the most important. The most important trait of a leader is to be able to inspire, influence, and enlist the help of others to win. Harden may have this trait, but Lin had demonstrated it during his stint in NY.
I bet a dollar that both Lin and Harden don't care as soon as they play good bball, gel well and win games.
Harden said in his presser that his aim is to be the leader of this team. Seems lilke he has the leadership mentality.
I don't mind Harden being the leader, tho I voted for Lin I love Harden for everything he does on the court, he's smart(left handers are usually smarter) has power, plays like a boss. But I can't vote for the because he's just got here.....that would make me look stupid. Make another poll midseason.
