Damn, so of you guys have great deals with U-verse. I have the old U100 package with no movies nor internet and pay $92 a month. Time to make a call
No kidding, I have U300 with Max internet and phone line for $130 a month, plus tax. I'll definitely negotiate to keep that price when the time comes as well.
After skimming through the last few pages in this thread, it seems that the "evil-doer" in the DirecTV scenario is likely DirecTV wanting to sell League Pass, rather than give subscribers the channel the way they did in past years as FSN.
The Rockets are blacked out in the Houston market on League Pass. That's a league rule that has nothing to do with this.
Oh, I have no idea at all about what's going on behind the scenes. I just find in annoying that certain individuals want to put all the blame on Les. I suspect that Les probably wants to get this resolved as quickly as possible. However, Les may not have enough say in the matter to get it done on his own. I think Crane and the Astros own 46% Les and the Rockets own 31% and NBCUniversal own 23%. I wish I really knew what was going own, but I think it's silly to assume that Les is the bad guy and the providers are blameless like some have harped on for days.
If I bought league pass, is there a feature that lets me watch the games after they are over, or will those be blacked out as well?
1 DVR, 3 receivers. I just call 'em all DVR's since I can watch my shows on any of them. I still don't understand how these people claim to be paying so much less for the same thing I have. Irritates me enough to leave.
This is what I'm also wondering. It says NBA League Pass Broadband archives all the games, so my guess would be yes but I guess we'll find out tomorrow.
I still think it will be worked out sooner rather than later, but that doesn't help fans who want to see James Harden's Rockets debut tomorrow night. I have to think getting Harden was likely a boost to Comcast's leverage.
I generally don't get to see a full game live anyways so this would be ok with me. Or if there's another option (rockets2k ). I like directv but I like the rockets more. If it goes another month and neither of those options are available I'll have to make the switch to comcast.
I used to have the U200 with 3 HD DVR with fast internet and my bill was $104 including tax....However, my 1 yr promos expired in Sept and Uverse got me for $140.... Now, I have U 300 with 3 HD DVR receivers with Max Plus internet for $95 + tax. I called in October to renoegiate my deal since Uverse sign me for these 1 yr promos. I have been with Uverse for maybe 5 years now. This is what I do each year. 1. Call Uverse customer service and ask for cancellation depart. Customer service will ask you "maybe I can help you." Tell them you cannot help me and I want to cancel my service. The reason is customer service has a limited amount of promos compared to their retention (cancellation) department. 2. Once at Cancellation dept, tell them " I like Uverse, but I am paying way to much and the other companies are offering much lower pricing. 3. Uverse will tell you let me see what we can do. 1st offer will be lower than your intial plan. Say no, it is still too much. They will say "let me see what I can do.'' 4. Uverse put me on U300 plan with faster internet promo, but my pricing is still around $100-105 including tax. 5. Then, I called back 10 days later (your timing may be limited) to complain about CSN being blacked out and why Comcast is so great, how in the world you do not carry the Houston Rockets, WTH is wrong with yall, when are you going to carry CSN. I got another $10 off. Honestly, I just called for the discount as i believe CSN will be carried by all providers once the season starts. FSN pulled the same thing back in the days. THIS DISCOUNT WILL BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE ROX GET ONTO UVERSE. 6. I mark down the 1 yr renewal date in Oct and repeat steps 1-4 next year. I am sure you can run the same trick on Dish, Comcast, Direct TV and other providers because they do not want to lose your service. 7. I have been doing this for the past 4-5 years.
