That precludes you from being a leader? You know Durant was there too right?

What James, Wade, and Bryant? Not leaders?
    Jordan?

That was an embarrassing post on your part.

I think leadership(influence) has different meanings in sports. Leadership can break down into different portraits, but for modern sports it usually comes to the best player, highest paycheck.

I never thought M.Jordan was a leader, and I never will think he's a leader. He's the best player, highest paid, and most popular. But he never learned the meanings of leadership nor did he cared about it until he met Phil Jackson.

Even after Phil Jackson worked with him, a big sum of his teamates still dislike him alot. Anyways I was a fan of Jordan(who isn't) because he's an amazing baller, not for his leadership(if there was any). If MJ posses leadership portraits, Bobcats will do better than they are right now.

And for Wade? Yes, he's a leader in many, many ways.
    Bryant too.

But James? Do you mean Lebron? Common , you can't be serious right?

The fact is I didn't even vote and couldnt care less who is the leader for the team.

All I care about is for Rockets to do well. It's too bad that you aren't registered after July 2012, or you might take offense from the reply from my quote.

Why should a member be 'less previlege' because the joining date?

Tinman is friggin' annoying as hell, but I have to say that I see his point about Knicks mentions in the GARM.

Screw Carmelo Anthony. Stop mentioning him.

By "most popular", you mean that MJ had the most fans, right?

Because I'm pretty sure MJ's teammates feared him rather than liked him. In fact, deep down, most of them probably hated his guts because of how abusive MJ could get.

I hope they all work together. Sometimes the best player is not playing well, so it's best that they don't always have to defer to him just because he's the best player.

Despite the results say, he sure seems to be acting like the leader.

Rockets play by play radio guy:

I watched them practice yesterday, and I'm going to tell you right now he ratcheted the energy level up of practice about 10 times, he got on the guys right away, he was all over from an energy stand point he was saying, "Let's go, let's pay attention. I'm going to be here to pick up everything, I'll catch up. You guys do what you do". When the winning team he was on (in scrimmage) didn't have to run (afterwards), he ran with the losing team.

    Good to hear.

Anyways it's just a poll, people shouldn't take it so seriously. BTW I didn't vote because find it silly.

Tyson Chandler has a ring and a DPoY under his belt, but that doesn't automatically make him the leader out there on the floor. We are all making predictions here based on what we know. There is nothing "unreal" about that. Harden has not shown any inclination for vocal assertiveness on the court and telling a few teammates to tuck in their shirts in practice doesn't even begin to undo three years of body of work. With Lin it's the exact opposite in his smaller body of work. I have no idea why y'all are so ready to attribute the poll result entirely to LOFs, when it makes perfect sense from the stand point of what we know of how the two players operate on court.

Maybe Harden will start doing what he's never done in his entire career now he is no longer on a team with Durant and Westbrook; maybe he'll try it and hate it and stop trying. It's possible that Harden will become the leader he's never been, but given what we know of Harden and Lin, that's not where the smart money is.

Well said. Sometimes the leader is the least vocal. Some leaders LEAD by example. For example, McHale said that Omer's presence really set a tone. His work ethic, his playoff experience all of that really impacted the team. Omer doesn't strike me as the extremely vocal type. LBJ established himself as the leader of the Heat (outside of his insane talent) by dominating all of the Heats fitness tests in camp. This way when he demanded perfection from his teammates they gave it to him because he was the best at everything so they had to listen. Just because Harden is an olympic gold medalist & a finals experience that doesn't automatically make him the leader of the Rockets. I know for a fact that Melo with his 2 Gold medals & NCAA ring was not the leader of the Knicks.

You don't have to be liked as a leader, just respected.
