The rockets won 34 games in a shortened season last year. I think we'll be in the 43 range this year.
Good to know the advanced give-a-crap metric has us still alive in March. Anyone think Hinkie has a shot at the All-Star Game?
I think the ranking isn't horribly unfair considering our unknown chemistry. Very few of our players have played together before. That said, if we gel reasonably quickly I expect our rankings to rise. I'm thinking 37-43 wins with 1 sigma taking us into either the 34-36 or 44-46 wins.
somehow i'm really hoping this is not the final deal. As before the trade i see rox drafting top 7. Now we are looking at 14 again...
That's really a very good thing. IF we're that good this year, even without the addition of another player, the Rockets' SHOULD be even better next year simply due to player development. The entire roster is 2-4 years out from their prime. It's quite possible that the Rockets will be a perennial playoff team even if they don't sign someone else. Which of course makes signing another top tier FA even EASIER...
Agree. Getting the 14th pick on a team this young is much better than on a team with a Camby/Scola/Martin/Lowry starting lineup. Add another max FA and watch this team grow.
If we end up with the #14 pick in a week draft, I hope DM conveys that pick to ATL so we can get out from under that obligation.
