Don't have a link but he's correct. I don't know what the latest reading is -- last I checked it was 940mb and that was an all-time record low.
ure observed north of Cape Hatteras, N.C npothin like deez http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_most_intense_tropical_cyclones#Atlantic_Ocean
I missed the part where I said "it isn't going to be that bad". All I said was it was blown out of proportion with the "Storm of the Century" label and that Ike was a more powerful storm. I don't troll, that's your job. North of North Carolina, it is the lowest ever recorded. For that region, this is most definitely the worst storm they've seen. Again, never said it's going to be all that bad.
My co-workers were showing me pics that clearly came from a movie about storms..they believed these pics to be real from a live cam on the east coast ...
The worst thing about Hurricanes are the power outages.. No Air Conditioning can be a pain in the ass
Considering it is about 50 degrees up there, nobody gives 2 ****s about the air conditioning. Go find yourself something else to do instead of steal credit for other people's post and make stupid comments.
Just the fact that people buy water when they can get it (almost) free from their sink is beyond me. What a waste of resources and energy.
Super windy outside but nothing major yet at my apt in NYC. Less rainy than Irene really. No visible flooding anywhere and I'm just a few blocks from the river. I'm right across the street from the "mandatory evacuation zone" cutoff, though even if I was I don't think I'd go anywhere. Too a quick walk this PM and the only thing open were bodegas & the liquor store.
There have been storms in the 800mb's in the Atlantic. Hurricane Wilma had in the 880's if I am not mistaking.. As far as a storm that far North and hitting that part of the country, 940 mb is the lowest pressure ever in that part of the world. Sandy is quite a massive storm.
Yep. He wast just speaking for it being the lowest for any storm making landfall north of North Carolina. Great pic btw. Crazy to see.
