I guess you gotta pick your battles...stay in a gated complex with a leader who is taking extreme measures or be constantly on the run from the zombies.

The Governor seems like a poor mans liam neeson to me for some reason.

Stay here with this generous guy that an entire village of happy families looks up to or run around with some crazy lady that keeps zombies as pets? Dur...

Keep in mind she has no reason to think he takes extreme measures at this point.

Does anyone here know how the comic book series correlates to the television series?

Someone posted this on another site, and it was my take as well, when I refer to Andrea being annoying:

"Second, and I don't want to be a hater, but Andrea has officially taken over from Lori Grimes as the most annoying character on the show. Her entire purpose seems to be to make the wrong choice, no matter what the circumstance. Whether it's getting involved with an increasingly unstable Shane, or making googly eyes at the Governor while he and the doc exchange shifty glances, and the woman responsible for her being alive clearly wants nothing more than to GTFO."

There was nothing comforting about how the Governor was acting to me. It was all words, with odd glances at the doctor, staring a little too long after a question, etc. She's just into it a little too much too early for my tastes. In this new world, I'd make pretty much anyone I came across prove their intentions to me a lot more than she's doing. It just seems like she's there, like Carl, to screw up.

Somethings have played out fairly closely to comic while others have varied quite a bit.

I meant more of what comic issues correlate to certain seasons. I have only watched maybe the first 4 episodes of the show's season one but have read the first 30 comic issues.

Medicine and food are pretty valuable resources in this new world and she received those for nothing. What is it that he should do to prove himself MORE?

Also, what exactly should Andrea be doing? Walking around mean mugging people like Michonne?

I think the idea that she should just want to get out comes from the fact that as a viewer you know what's going on.

    Possible.

I just think my personality type makes me more suspicious than most. I don't think I'd trust very easily in that situation. Thankful for the food and medical help, sure, but don't think I'd be ready to become a member of the community, ready and willing to serve. Seems a little too good to be true.

More to the point, I just don't like the characterization of the TV version of Andrea. I prefer the comic version.

But that's okay. To each his own.

Issue #30 has events that are probably SLIGHTLY past where the TV show is right now.

It does seem too good to be true, but like I said earlier, what exactly are her options? Are you suggesting that you'd just up and leave? If your suspicious nature was in fact correct, would they really just let you leave? I think the logical thing to do, even if you are suspicious, is just to stay and see what happens. Michonne's attitude and mean mugging makes it easier for a bad situation to blow up.

Thats cool and legit. Any book/comic vs tv/movie depiction is going to deal with people preferring one or the other. So I can't blame you for that.

    Right.

I'm not saying she's stupid. I'm just saying it's not how I'd react, right or wrong. And no, I wouldn't be extreme with the mean mugging either. I think we have two characters here who are extreme in opposite ways from how I'd be. I'd be thankful like Andrea is, but about halfway to where Michonne is in her suspicions. I'd be friendly while harboring some serious reservations and misgivings. I'd try to feel it all out a little more while putting on a good face.

    Okay...

Definitely SPOILERS below from the comic, which may or may not happen on the TV show.

    One by one:

    1. Heads: In the comic, the Governor had heads of zombies in fish tanks in a room in his house, just like you saw on the show. They are decapitated, still alive zombies that he sits in his house and stares at for "entertainment". Essentially, he's gonna a little insane.

Furthermore, and again DOUBLE SPOILER ALERT:

In the comic, he also has his zombified neice Penny chained up in a room in his house. When he kills someone, he feeds their dismembered parts to her.

Then, the people he doesn't kill, he sets up an arena in Woodbury where he feeds his prisoners to zombies gladiator-style. In the comics, he threatens the people from Rick's group with this fate if they don't tell him where the pirson is.

    2. Tea: I actually have no idea where they're going with that.

If you REALLY want spoilers, here is a link to the full biography of the character from the comics: http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Brian_Blake

Don't read that unless you want to spoil his entire story for yourself though. Just a warning.

If you have more specific questions though, I'll answer.

One correction from the above, but definitely a spoiler:

He sets up gladiator styled contests and makes people fight each OTHER with zombies in the "ring". It's been awhile since I read it, but I just looked it up again. Heh.
