Is it bad that I'm dreading Sally potentially knocking out The Walking Dead but am really going to freak if I miss Sons of Anarchy as well?
Cant help but to think some of this is being blown out of proportion. I understand it could be a historic storm, but some of these northeast media outlets are making it seem like this is Katrina or something.
Even as a category 1, it will do a lot more damage on the eastern seaboard than say Houston. Everything on the East coast is concentrated into a small area. Houston and surrounding cities are spread out so far. We'll see how it plays out but I would not be comfortable staying in NY or NJ.
If it was only water. For some, it will be very toxic, cancerous poop sludge. http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2012/10/sandy-could-be-a-toxic-****storm-in-gowanus.html
I'm in PA about 3 miles from the DE border. Not bad yet but all schools in the area are closed the next three days. Really hope we don't get hit too bad. Got walloped by Ike when I lived in Houston (tree fell on house). I'm supposed to fly to Texas on Tuesday, too. Freakin storms are a pain.
Well, DC Metro is down and I'm not going to work tomorrow. Spent a few hours cooking a large amount of food (chicken, pork, rice, cheese, as well as emergency rations of bread and crackers). Have water as well, so I'll be fine, even though this is my first hurricane since I moved out of my parents' home.
Don't mean to sound like an uncaring ass, but it does seem a bit blown out or proportion Just seems like fear mongering.
Im not sure how this is 'the perfect storm' or 'the 100 year storm'. It is, at best, a cat 1 hurricane.
