We were never getting a top 3 pick. That toronto pick is not a top 3 pick. Lamb isn't a top 3 pick. Even if the trade didn't happen, you already had Asik, Parsons, Kmart and Lin on the team...where the hell does this "top 3" fantasy come from?

You know who's a top 3 pick though? James ****ing Harden  And he's been one of the best top 3 picks to come out in the last 5 years. I dunno why you keep harping on the future top 3 pick when the guy in front of you is already one of the best top 3 picks to come out in years.

Man, some people are bugging. I would give up both Jeremys for Harden, and I only started following the Rockets because of Lin. Whenever you have a chance to make a deal like this, you do it. Every deal has risk. Sitting still carries a risk too.

It's funny how the media is trying to spin this into a deal that everybody expected and is happy with as far as team mates go. Now all of a sudden guys don't mind him leaving, didn't really care for him and he was trouble in the locker room :confused:I thought it was WB & Durant that bumped heads and WB's ego that was causing some trouble, not Harden. Funny how most people do not want to give Morey credit for landing a guy everybody thought was great before, though I was never sold on him, and now thinks he's just another player.

Lol another player from the 2009 draft:

Thabeet, Harden, Flynn, Hill, T-Will, Douglas, Taylor, Llullz, Brockman, Budinger

but so glad we got Harden!

I hope the front office has reason to believe there is another star player they can acquire somehow because they will need on for sure to compete for a title. With no likely draft pick next year (losing ours to NJ finally) and then presumably getting better in the offseason, the chances of reinforcing our roster with a stud prospect are severely diminished.

So, you've got to hope that Terrance Jones or Royce White (higher hopes for Jones) emerge as a legit contributor and then hope you can find an all star to add to your core.

    The thing is:
Lin-(if he plays at a high level)
    Harden
    Parsons
    PF
    Asik

That is a pretty good core. It's not title worthy, but that's going to be a team of five guys that runs up and down the court, scores in bunches and defends the heck out of you. I can promise you this, nobody is going to want to play this team.

If we make the playoffs, McHale will be ripping of Remember the Titans every night!

"You make them fight for every basket! I want them to remember FOREVER, the night they played the Rockets!"

A team like Houston hasn't much hope to land a tier 1 Superstar - they go to the big markets. The only way we can get tier 2 superstars is if we can attract them with our core team. Lin and Harden makes this team relevant to the media and can help you win. You can always market a big 3 - so that move helps us with our attract a max level player next season. But is is not a guarantee in any way. It is just our best chance. So I applaud Morey for it. For a team like us it takes balls and a bit of luck.., we showed our balls, now lets get lucky...

Multiple Sources (the voices in my head) tell me that Patterson and Morris maybe next to be dealt before the season starts...

Kmart, Lamb, two 1sts (including the Toronto pick which was basically Lowry), and a 2nd? Seriously... we just paid more for Harden than Orlando got for Dwight Howard???

Sorry, this move sucks. It's exactly what I DID NOT want them to do. Get desperate and OVERPAY for a TIER 2 level player. It guarantees we are going to be stuck in mediocrity for the next 5 years. I would much rather have developed Lamb, keep the picks, and play the market after the season.
