Kobe's an old man at the tail end of his career arc who's become terribly inefficient. Gasol is not the same player he was. Howard seems OK so far in preseason but big men + back problems is not a good recipe. Nash is one of my fave players of all time but the Lakers are not utilizing him AT ALL. He might as well be Derek Fisher.
A big man that can has a decent inside game and can also play pick and pop with him. Someone like Aldridge.
I would prefer a big guy who can dominate the paint. Love would be the best choice, if not him then J-Smoove.
Get someone that can play the pick and roll. With Lin and Harden, that will be the play for today, tmr and the foreseeable future. Cousins will be nice.
Not one of the sexier options but Al Jefferson seems to be a free agent next summer. I wouldn't mind signing him to play PF at the right price.
1. LaMarcus Aldridge 2. Kevin Love 3. Chris Bosh 4. Blake Griffin 5. Al Jefferson 6. Zach Randolph 7. Pau Gasol Those would be my targets - in order. And yes, I know most of them probably aren't available. And yes, I know I didn't add Josh Smith at all. That's because I think he'd be a terrible fit with this team. *edit: I should have added Dwight Howard though - but I think I've just had enough of dreaming of Howard.
Josh Smith makes almost too much sense... A huge 4 who thrives in the open court and blocks shots and gets steals in droves... A Smith/Asik front court would probably be one of the most intimidating front courts defensively in the league. I would trade machado, Royce, and one of Jones or Dmo for him. Gotta keep Parsons and one young 4 prospect.
Me too. A PF with an outside shot would be a great complement to Asik. Lin Harden Parsons Aldridge Asik Not sure if championship caliber but an excellent, balanced starting lineup regardless.
I see Al Jefferson coming to H-Town. He's a bit older but he's a great fit and one of the more plausible options given that the Jazz are stacked at the front-court and need to drop him.
