Nice. Harden is a legit Top 28 player in this league but not enough to survive 2 rounds in the playoffs
Hope more is to come, develop the young guys!

You're acting like he's all about winning and doesn't care about money. He's young, and young guys usually are mostly about getting paid. They want to make the max possible and fulfill their potential. Usually its the vets that decide to give up money to contend. He's only 23. He'll have another opportunity to leave and go to a contender. Right now it's the best time for him to take on a bigger role.

He and his agent wanted the max and now they will get it. He should be glad, for the most part.

I am a tanker but when a piece like Harden is available you have to go for it.

Idk if he can be the #1 guy but he can def. be the #2 guy on a championship contender imho.

About time one of morey's "swing for the fences" deals worked out (not his fault they haven't.)

    All-Star projections

    All-Star projections:

If Lin gets the online Asian vote (like Yao did), which also translates to Harden getting more votes because of the increased exposure (like McGrady did) but with All-Star numbers to back it up (extrapolated based on Tweet I saw earlier), it would be weird to have two All-Stars on a team that's not a championship contender yet.

I'm as big of a Rocket fan as anyone, but this would be a farce. One player, fine. Two players, ridiculous. I said the same thing during the Yao-McGrady era.

Bottom line: take away the online voting from fans, and make it more legit by weighting heavier the votes from fellow players.

Wow - I wake up in Barcelona and see this. Huge. This is re-igniting my interest in the NBA.

    Hat off to Morey.

I didn't think the Toronto pick was going to be all that great - because Lowry is a winner, and Toronto will do well enough for the pick to not be worth all that much.

Martin was going to be gone anyway, possibly for nothing. Lamb might turn out to be good, but it is highly unlikely he will be anywhere as good as Harden.

Hopefully, one of our gazillion of power forwards turns out to be really good. And if Feigen's information is true and we still have cap room for a max player even after Harden signs for the max, it will be very interesting whom we can attract - playing with Harden should be attractive to future free agents.

Now I just hope he gets rid of the beard eventually, I don't like it :).

I still think Dragic and Lowry are much better than Lin (especially with regards to turnovers and shooting), but I can understand why we had to do what we did.

    Lin, Livingston, Machado
    Harden, Delfino, Douglas
    Parsons, White, Morris
    Patterson, Jones, Motiejunas
    Asik, Aldrich, Smith

Still lacking another superstar, but a nice, young foundation...if Patterson finally gets his act together or Jones or Motiejunas or White turns out be a big positive surprise...I like our core.

    Go Rockets!

When you're limited to 140 characters, you do it to make it fit. (On Twitter anyways)

Allstar game is about the Fans choice... if there is 300 million casual Chinese fans voting... it is majority rules...

you might be a hardcore true basketball aficionado

but the casual fan is what pays the bills....so you are shat out of luck dude...

PG is a downgrade? What in the heck are you smoking? ........

Lin's PER is two points higher than Dragic, and is a far more disruptive defender. Dragic will make more highlight reel plays, but Lin will win more games.

The only concern now is who takes the big shots at the end of the game........ Both Lin and Harden are monsters late in close games.

Crazy fact: Patrick Patterson is now the longest tenured Rocket. Amazing how much turnover this team has had (insert Jeremy Lin pun here).

Harden will take off so much pressure from Lin. This is great for the Rockets.

of course the PG position is a downgrade, you can argue that Lin is a better player than Dragic/Lowry which i don't think he's there yet , definitely have the potential though. but who is backing up Lin this season?

Dragic or Lowry >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Livingston + Machado + Toney Douglas

    and i'm a Lin fan

Yeh the picks could of been great but who knows, gotta take a risk. Still I am glad we kept Jones, he looks to be the best of the young players.

Disgruntled over losing a pick in the 21-30 range (until 2018 when it's unprotected, I believe, by then)?

Now all that's left is Demarcus Cousins and for CSNHouston and U-Verse to get a deal done. I don't know what I'll do if I can't watch the games this year. I've been praying quite a bit lately, more than usual. Here's to hoping the power of prayer comes through for us all.
