watching this kid play in College reminds me of a young T-Mac, with the work ethic and tremendous potential. Sure he did not overachieve in the pre-season but c'mon, I'd let White go instead way before Lamb. At least he's not scared of flying. Really sad to see this kid go.

Then I'd keep Lamb and our future draft picks. It's ok if we landed Kevin Durant but not James Harden.
Definitely sad to see him go, but Lamb certainly was not a sure-thing as some of the members of this BBS seem to think. He's shown flashes of the potential we all know he has, but other times he's shown complacency, and even apathy, on the court. If the coach is gonna give him six minutes of play time, I want to see him playing hard for those six minutes, rather than seeing him sulk up and down the court. He could end up being the best shooting guard of this class. At the same time, he could end up being the next Nick Young. We're trading potential for a known-commodity who is only a couple of years older and still is growing as a player. It's nice to be able to watch a kid grow up in front of your eyes, but you always run that risk of him never panning out. Sure, Harden has never been the primary option on an offense before, but the only person in the NBA who could possibly supplant KD as the primary option on that team would be LeBron James. I think being the primary scorer on this team will make Harden an even better player, but we'll have to see.
Harden is 23 and is already one of the best SG in the NBA. He'll likely make the All-star team before Lamb will and doubly so now that he'll be a starter and Lamb will always at best be a 3rd option on that team...if he can reach his potential. Harden has potential too, it's not like he's 28.
Lamb had a big dropoff from SL to pre-season. His drive and intensity seems lacking. He could still become a very good player, but it's going to take some time.
What is it with these McGrady comparisons? Oh, I get it, they are similar because both are lanky and have sleepy eyes. Lamb's ceiling is lower than what Harden already is. Why is that? play-making ability and handles. Also, while I love Lamb's sweet stroke, he still isn't the knock down shooter Harden already is. I wish him good luck, he's a nice kid.
Every player on our team (that matters to our future -- directly) is under 26. We have 9 players on our roster (or rights to) that haven't even scratched their prime years. Lamb is not the next superstar in the league. Harden isn't the next superstar, but Harden is Lamb's ceiling. Chill.
I don't really like Lamb's attitude to be honest. But I'm sure OKC, if they keep him, will develop him well. They're good at that sort of thing, not sure McHale is.
