Exactly what don't you agree with about that outlook? I'm just curious. What do you think they need to be a championship threat?
So, Harden is the real deal. Lived in OKC until 3 months ago and watched a ton of thunder bball. All the folks complaining that he was a backup should go put their heads back in the sand. Harden ran the second team for OKC and really does just about everything VERY well. There are no holes in his game or size, strength, character(so far), defense. He is a complete player. LOVE the trade for both teams. K-Mart will do very well in OKC, as long as Maynor is healthy K-Mart will maintain scoring for the second unit and will provide a crazy good scoring bump if the Thunder find themselves down. Aldridge, don't expect much. Cook is a good but sometimes streaky shooter that actually plays ok D. Haywood, likely gone.
Why does it bother you? He's a 23 year old all star shooting guard. he'll be 28 at the end of said contract. Still in his prime.
Keep in mind despite all the young talent and draft picks Morey has been gathering over the years, he couldn't even get someone like Andre Igoudala or Caron Butler. James Harden may very well be overrated and the Rockets may have overpaid, but this is a trade that really needed to be done.
My daughter is going to be devastated. All of her favourites gone...first Jordan Hill, to a lesser extent Scola & T-Will and now K-Mart is gone too. To all the Lin Haters...she has a Lin jersey now, he might be next! Update: I just told her and she said...'Ring him and tell him to come back!' She wasn't to fussed about Lamb.
A scoring 4 that can play some defense and rebound, Lamarcus Aldridge or Kevin Love and I'll be thrilled about our future for the next 5 years.
Man, OKC got more for James Harden than Orlando got for Dwight. Madness. I'm glad Martin gets to play for a contender, but do you think they will most likely let him expire -- or trade him as an expiring for another piece they like better?
All the guys we're plugging in are guys who have NEVER started a full season, and now all of them have huge expectations, something none of them ever had before. If all follow through on their potential, of course another elite player could catapult this team to championship contention. But it's not a sure thing that all of these guys will. It's very reasonable some fans may not feel the same way you others.
not too worried since hardens max deal coming off a rookie contract is far less than what johnson got especially with the new cba in place not to mention we have Morey as the GM and not the hawks who basically bid against themselves twice (one for when he was traded to atl from phx) for johnson's services. The Hawks management was horrible (skipping over Chris Paul and Deron Williams??) and there is a reason why Ferry was applauded for starting to clean house in his first week as the GM this offseason
Aha, I was actually wondering how your daughter was going to take it! I remembered she was a huge KMart fan. I'm glad you responded.
Still can't believe this happened. Just another regular Saturday night while I'm scrolling through my twitter and see all these tweets from Woj and Stein about the trade. This should be an exciting season for Rockets basketball. I can't wait for the season opener.
We will definitely see. Just so yall don't take my words out of context in the future, here's my opinion: 1) James Harden is NOT max material 2)By next year he'll be back on the trading block w/ Lin 3)His first season will be a disappointment for us 4)By allstar break reports will start to "leak" how he's unhappy or that Morey was forced by Les to do this trade and that there's turmoil in the organization I could be wrong but Im confident we made a very bad move out of desperation. We will definitely see who's who by midseason
Well damn, if we give him 5 years you really can't get mad at him for wanting the extra guaranteed 20+ million.
