If Harden proves himself and shows star quality, the Rockets are back on the map as a free agent landing spot. He is only 23 and these guys like to go to teams where there are other good players that they can join up with. Guys around the league know who he is and seem to like him so if he proves he can be a player, other good players would be more likely to seriously consider taking Houston's money.
What are the odds that the Toronto pick gave us a player as good as James Harden? Not good. Not good at all. Why are people freaking out over it?
At 1st, I thought we gave up too many draft picks. I wanted a shot at a top 10 draft pick next year with all the talented bigs in that draft. However, with us getting Cole Aldridge, I'll live with that. Welcome aboard JH, CA & DC.
Also, the 2nd rounder we traded was from charlotte, who traded it to okc, who were forced to trade it to Boston for the Jeff Green incident, who traded it to Houston in the Courtney Lee trade.
If James Harden's the guy we've been waiting to sacrifice our future for then Morey needs to go ahead and start looking for employment elsewhere. When the smoke settles OKC got more manpower and we set them up pretty nice for future
Yes...even if he doesn't sign an extension by Wednesday, he's restricted next offseason and you know the Rockets will match.
So..is this years roster better then last years roster? Starters PGowngrade SG:Upgrade SF:Same PFowngrade C:Upgrade Bench:Upgrade
The more i think about it, i really wish they would have done this earlier so that he could have already got some run with the team. One more thing, how is his defense?
Good deal for okc. Lamb has the potential to be a star while a motivated Martin will help immediately. Plus three great draft picks. Nice haul. I'm a big fan of Harden, and While Morey definitely overpaid, that's what it takes to trade for a young all star.
Why are people still bringing up his disappearance in the finals? So I'm guessing everyone on here would have passed up on LBJ after the chokejob in 2011?
Would we be overpaying if the picks don't end up to be anything special and Lamb becomes nothing more but a semi decent player?
Good: We finally land a legit "star" player since Tmac! Got a better scorer/player in return. Kept Chandler, Asik, and Patterson Bad: Too many draft picks given. Max contract (likely) for a borderline All Star/Superstar player. Honestly, I think long term this can pay off for the Thunder if those draft picks turn out in their favor (and knowing their drafting pedigree, they will likely upgrade/ atleast stabilize themselves for the future even more). But for the forseable 3 -5 years, we now have a potent scoring backcourt and a lot of young guys with a lot of potential too. Main thing is, this takes off one tick of of Morey's back concerning our ability to acquire legit star(s)....

I just read we're giving him 5 year for $80 million. ******* is that true? That's a big difference from 4 year for $60 million.
Good lord. Step away from the computer for a few hours and come back to THIS? NICE TRADE! Rockets are now officially a playoff team.
This team is gonna rock n roll. We kept D Mo, White, T J. The Rockets are deep in raw young explosive power. It's just the first floor. But it's a very strong foundation. Why the hell wait for "future draft picks?" The future is Now.
