Damn we had to give up the Toronto pick... Ah well, Morey pulled some magic anyways. It will be interesting to see who Morey builds around James. As it is, Harden can't carry the team ala Kobe or LBJ.
Also, let's stop saying we got a guy who just comes off the bench. We just got a guy who was selected to the US team.
I'm happy for Kevin. People here will hate, but they were hating on him since last season so who gives a ****.

Kobe never carried a team. He has never achieved anything significant without having played with another superstar (Shaq, Gasol).
Not really, especially if they consider moving Westbrook to shooting guard or think Lamb will supplant Martin in the starting rotation at some point. Also, consider that K-Mart is big liability defensively, especially compared to the others.
Martin can move well without the ball, put up points without stopping the ball, he's efficient, but it's still another mouth to feed that takes the ball out of Durant's hands in an unnatural way IMO. They didn't take Martin because they're excited about him, they took him because he's about to expire and he'd somewhat lessen the immediate talent dropoff. Plus, I don't think any of us are show how Martin's game will look coming off the bench. If I'm an OKC fan I like the deal but not because of Martin. He's not pushing the needle in any direction.
Big fan of Harden's. I think most of the critics on this board have not seen him play. He's gonna prove them wrong, I firmly believe it. BTW I think the trade was good for both teams.
It's funny reading general NBA forums... People really think Martin is equal to Harden. Harden scores just as well as Martin and is a playmaker and plays defense. All Martin does is shoot, and sometimes depending on the matchup he can drive.
I think it's safe to say if Daryl Morey gives James Harden max money on top of what he gave up in the trade, his job rests solely on James Harden becoming a superstar. Is that an absurd statement to make?
Kobe did carry the lakers straight to the lotto that turned into bynum which eventually turned in to lady dwight. So I wouldn't say he has never carried a team.
