I think he has the ability to be a 20/5/5 type of player.

A notch or two below superstar level but he is worth the max considering other players who have gotten it.

Joe was 30 when he got his. Since then the new CBA has lowered the max for $/year and years as well

It's always possible that another team would have stepped in if it weren't the Rockets.

In fact, I could guaranteed that if the Rockets didn't take action another team would have traded for Harden before he went in the market.

After giving harden the max the rockets will about 41 mil guaranteed for next season so depending on the salary they probably won't have enough to sign another max player unless they can get rid of lin or asik.

I trust Morey's assessment of players, and I'm sure he understands he needs a legit #1 to go with Harden. Who that #1 player is? I don't know.

His job is not complete. Still a long way to go before this team is a championship contender.

But getting that star is tough. And Morey has been striking out for so long. But now he has that star. It's easier to recruit other stars once you get that one star. Hopefully, Morey can find that other star quick :)

This isn't the era of 7 year deals, with the Rockets no where close to the salary cap this deal is a no-brainer

    So right now we have:

Starting: Lin, Parsons, Harden, Asik, Patterson

LOL we gave up draft picks too. I like the trade but I fear Rockets might end up being mediocre and not even get a good draft pick. Maybe they will be able to bring a good free agent.
