Yea Im happy with this trade because Daryl Morey had been grilled before for overrating his assets and keeping them...Now he finally gets a known name around the league and he can attract pontential free agents next season... No more tank season this year...Rockets finally got themselves an All Star type talent...
Harden wasn't closing games nor is he as good of a player as westbrook. If both was in same situation, I guarntee westbrook gets way more than harden. I have no problem with harden except people calling him an all star or superstar. If he's either,he will get a chance to start and play against starters more than when he did. As I said, superstars don't sit on the bench behind thabo type guys.
Congratulations ROckets fans.. this is a great move. That backcourt once it gets familiar is going to be exciting to watch.
It was going to be a very early 2nd round pick. So with the way we draft it would have been a first round talent on a cheaper contract.
THANK GOODNESS <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Source from 1 of teams involved tells me it was "a good trade for both teams."</p>— Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) <a href="https://twitter.com/Chris_Broussard/status/262394523232124929" data-datetime="2012-10-28T03:25:04+00:00">October 28, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
can't believe some. You wanted one of those picks we selected this year to turn into a star....you got one and didn't have to use a time machine, saved three years of development. As for martin? 80% of you guys wanted him out before the season began. New age baby! now if we could just f'n watch the m'fing games!
Because in all honesty, all they needed was a 15ppg scorer from the bench. They also received a 'talent' (Lamb) and future considerations for a guy they won't be able to pay the max. In terms of talent, we made out like bandits. But (as I've often said) OKC didn't need a superstar coming off the bench, they needed a guy who could score and take the pressure off Durant and Westbrook when required. KMart can certainly do that, and they have plenty of 'future drafting' to add to an already talented squad. But we win on the talent front. We get a guy is already a legit star, is clutch and can win a game. We give up an expiring contract and a rookie who is nowhere near as good as Harden, and 3 future picks - none of which would have netted us a superstar. Our NEED was to get a star, and then surround him with talent - we have a few of the 'other pieces' but have needed the 'star' part of the equation for a while. That we now have it is AMAZING.
There are pissed off and angry Orlando Magic fans everywhere wondering how in the hell James Harden is worth twice as much as Dwight Howard! OKC gets serious value for James Harden while the only thing of real value the Magic got for Howard was Aaron Aflalo.
no, of course not, but i want another major move soon. i just don't see why a lot of people are excited just to see us get shut out in the first round. with that said, i hope we trade lin, and hope that cp3 doesn't sign an extension with the clippers?
I have never liked Harden and I have thought he is one of the most overrated players in the entire league. Giving the two first round picks was way too much to give. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong.
He's a 23 year old lotto pick. Bigs take a little longer to develop. I don't think you can wisely call him a stiff yet. Personally I like him for a young backup C.
