And he's a washed up player who can't get spot on the Bobcats here.

Thank goodness we still have real superstars like LEBRON JAMES and KOBE still in our league

The same reason that a mob showed up at the LA airport to meet another broken down former star (David Beckham)?

Allen Iverson was on a different planet than either Tmac, or Stephon China Champion Marbury...Talk about a dude that would ruin teams...I always thought Marbury would be a Van Exel type, but Marbury all he cared for was stats...Tmac took games off in the playoffs, and just plain was a quitter...at least AI can say he played in the finals, and lost against a dynasty...oh and he took that team on his back, weak Eastern Conf., or not...he had like what Snow, and Aaron Mckee (spelling), and I guess Deke, (Speaking of names that have legacy, I'll never forget Mutumbo's last full game against Port.) I don't know where this belongs, because it doesn't belong in the NBA dish anymore, I guess someone needs to make a Tmac in china place for people to praise the guy who even JVG couldn't get through to him....he almost did...but TMAC was treated like...a DIVA, and JVG was def. part of the enabling on that! I love JVG though, and he didn't create the quitter in Tmac, TSlack created that within himself, bc of excessive god gifted talent, hubris, and he never learned hard work beats talent everyday of the week.

I feel bad that David Beckham is compared to Tmac.
Beckham has been to championship games and won championships.

Tmac has never come close to a championship. ever.

He had a golden foot, not a broken foot.
He was a journey man like a lot of soccer players.
David as Tracy would have been on Tottenham and Sevilla, AS Roma and not on the richest teams in the world.
There are more championships and league cups to be won in soccer than in BBall so comparison is moot.

Totally agree. Most of the time, the fuss started when LOH started trashing Lin or that "When the Regular season starts, Lin Fans need to.." thread.

    who's the LOH?

you still haven't quoted where I 'trashed Lin', just cause some of his fans have no respect for the Rockets, doesn't mean they are all bad like McGrady fans

Yes, Iverson DEFINITELY had more HEART than McGrady.

In fact, Iverson played in the SAME L'EASTERN CONFERENCE as McGrady then.

People in Philly love the guy, he would never get booed there..

As far as being a Rocket, Lin has a chance to do something t-mac has never done, lead a team far into the playoffs.

in terms of accomplishments I agree
but never was he compared to the all time greats or GOAT of the game
    McGrady once was

Talentwise he was one and a half dimensional, could pass, and kick free throws early one, wasn't the allrounder McGrady was

so overall there are parallels due to sponsorship, PR but McGrady was the better all round player and the better scorer relatively speaking throughout his career.
    Beckham had the better career.

Beckham was no Maradona, Messi or Ronaldinho the best individuals, he was one of the best specialists on the court, a star more off the court.
You could say a rich guy's Lin

I don't see anything wrong with fans showing up to support the "sidekick" of their nation's hero. Also, bigger mobs show up to meet washed up actors and untalented teen singers so it really isn't all that surprising. People got time on their hands.

You don't have to be one's fan to acknowledge what kind of game either player brought to the team.

You bring up the playoffs all the time, that is like comparing him to Ibrahimovic and his national side

Sweden never had much success in the World Cup but you knew it was not on Zlatan alone or Ryan Giggs' Wales never going to the World Cup
