I like Kendrick Lamar and like the album quite a lot, but he's still a bit overrated

No way is this kid overrated. You're still a child, you don't even know real hip hop from the soul. I'm not saying it's an INSTANT classic, but this album has balls to be there one day. Just complete all the way through. Not that blank **** on radio. Love concept albums too, just brilliant.

Do you know exactly how old each person commenting in this thread is? A bit much to assume whomever you were referring to doesn't know real hip hop.

It's all personal preference I guess. I don't think anyone on this thread said the album wasn't good, but a classic? Eh, we'll see.

Also, I'm only 22 but have all old school stuff that's out there, sometimes think I'm more familar with 80s/90s rap than majority of people that grew up in that time.

Age is just a number, nowadays everything is available online.

I'm 22 but my playlist has ATCQ, Lordz Of tHe Underground, Das EFX, Jeru, Pharcyde, Beatnuts, King Tee, Black Sheeps, Luniz, Slum Village, Masta Ace, Spice I, Celly Cel, Del, Lost Boyz, Geto Boys,...
    Think you get the idea.

Throwing out the "You weren't grown up in the 90s" is no point these days.
