The only plausible explanation is the Giants somehow invented a time machine and stole Zito from the A's of 2002.

That being said...3 freakin' homeruns? Panda was killing it!

Former Astros have typically done well in the world series. This one could come down to Hunter Pence vs. Jose Valverde. The Immovable object vs. Indestructable force.

Two moments for Astros come immediately to mind.

1990 - Billy Hatchers 7 consecutive hits that results in a sweep of Canseco and McGwire bash boys.

2001 - Bloop Single by Luis Gonzalez off Mariano Rivera wins the world series for the Giants over the Yankee machinery.

2001, 2004, 2007 - Curt Schilling and the bloody sock. 4-1 in world series appearances with a 2.06 era.

    Isn't it the "irresistible" force?

I still count that Series as the most improbable outcome of any WS in my lifetime. The Reds were HUGE underdogs, so even winning the Series was a stretch...but sweeping it? No one saw that coming.

After Valverde's performance in game one I wouldn't expect to see him for the resrt of the series and more likely ever in a Tigers uniform. He already lost the closer job for this series to Coke, and last night was an audition for him to see if he can be called upon for middle relife. He failed and so I don't expect to see him again in this series.

I'd like to thank the Tigers and Jose Valverde for Mike Foltynewicz.

And I'd like to curse them for Mike Kvasnicka.

We could have had Mike Olt or Nick Castellanos.

Noah Syndergaard if we would have considered a pitcher instead.

There is a game going on and they spend the whole inning talking to Sergio Romo

It was a rout. Hardly compelling to casual fans. I turned it off in the 7th.

Giants 2 x World Series Champs in a 3 year span. Impressive.

He's slightly more easy on the ears than Joe Buck, that's for sure.

I have it on the Giants broadcast, KNBR, (available via web too.) John Miller and the crew, FTW!

Bumgarner was pretty impressive tonight. And Pence finally did something!

That would be the Diamondback, not the Giants.
