**** the myth that Houston fans created that Stern hates Houston... My issue with Stern was this: Post-Jordan/Magic/Bird = 2 work stoppages. **** him.
Dude David Stern is the best Commissioner that any sport has seen...stop bashing. He is the reason the NFL is trying to go global today and the same goes for MLB by having games in go overseas at the beginning of the season. Thank You Mr. Stern for 30 yrs of making the sport I love into what it is today!
Yeah, no one else in any business could have ever dreamed of playing games overseas before David Stern dared to conjure up that vision. International business was a complete mystery before him.

YES!!! MJ is the one that grew the game over the years. The Dream team was the one that made it so big nationally. David Stern just sits there and takes all the credit like he's the great messiah. Bird and Magic saved the NBA, Jordan expanded it, and Stern just corrupting it.
Great news though Silver has the look of a psycho. The thing that confirms's Stern's power and deviance is how he takes criticism and the boos. The guy just smiles it away and doesn't do anything to make him more trustworthy or liked.
In unrelated news, the Rockets have announced that their championship window will finally re-open on February 2, 2014.

Of getting out of the way so Larry and Magic could save the NBA. Of getting out of the way so Nike and ESPN could make Jordan and the league a global brand. He won't be missed.
Really? If you think Stern's impact in growing the game overseas(and from my perspective-especially Africa) was merely a part any other character could have played(upon assuming Stern's position) then I think you're highly undervaluing Stern. Granted Basketball is an easier sport to export overseas than certain other sports but Stern had a truly global outlook while certain leagues think if they can reach one or two countries they've "grown the game globally". I think Stern's folly (IMO) was trying to cater to the non-NBA loving crowd that disliked the "personality" of NBA players( Personality being code for how a segment of society perceive NBA players to be). Using the whole pregame handshake thing or the dress code as an example. Neither of those two changes/implementations by Stern/the league brought back or will bring back those that dislike the "personality" of NBA players.
