The Lakers have 13 guaranteed contracts already taking up spots on their roster. A team can carry a maximum of 15 players in the NBA, but sources indicate L.A. will probably stick with 14 and leave a roster spot open to save money on their already exorbitant salary sum, and to give them flexibility later in case they want to pick up an established veteran available on the market to give the bench some punch. Sacre already has outlasted four training camp invitees. Chris Douglas-Roberts, Greg Somogyi, Reeves Nelson and Ronnie Aguilar came and went as Sacre continues to live in a hotel close to the Lakers' facility in El Segundo, Calif., not knowing when he wakes up if it will be his last chance to walk to practice or if his NBA dream will continue. Would be a good backup to Asik if he is cut IMO can score and defensive minded. I thought he was Dan Gadzuric when I saw the Lakers v Clippers last night and rewatching it now.
He isn't getting cut, hes a serviceable backup C Hes foul prone but hes productive So far in preseason 7 games, 6 starts 25 mins, 6.7 points, 5 rebs 55% FG, 1.3 blks Yesterday again $40 mil man DeAndre Jordan he went 6/9FG 13pts, 7 rebs.
Agreed, i can't believe he fell so low.. He was the fire behind Gonzaga, he has passion and more skill than people give him credit for. I'd love him to come here but i think Lakers are going to hang onto him unfortunately
