The reality the Rockets are going to be one of the worst in the league. Everybody knew this when you have rookies on your rosters. Even if the rookies are great...it doesn't translate into winnings because winnings require experience. So expect the Rockets to lose a lot this season and get use to it. And if they happen to win....great....but don't get your hope up.

As fan, i do wish the Rockets win a lot of games and even make the Playoffs but that's not going to happen in the West.

Oh look, some context! How about that?? Must spread rep...

I thought the more interesting part of the interview was when Martin was asked if he could be the leader for the team. It was comical watching him go through the motions of saying "yes." The guy is a great player, but he's just not an alpha male-type, and that's okay! Well, unless you're the average poster on these boards...

Too bad for his sake he isn't playing on a real team right now. He would be an awesome second or third option for a contender.

Do I think we can give those teams a run for their money when we play them during the regular season? Yes. Do I think we have a championship team? No.

I consider the regular season competition as well.

If you believe you have lost before even playing them you have lost half the battle. Believe!

That part of his quote shows that Kmart was implying that the rockets couldnt compete w/ the Lakers and Thunder in terms of talent. AND, that they have to make up that lack of talent by playing harder than those teams. He's not giving up or saying that the rockets can even beat the lakers or thunder, just that they are not realistic contenders.

It's bad timing to me. I think you say this just before the tradeline, not now. Lin is the leader, it's his responsibility in my opinion to speak up. But you don't do this before tipoff. Everyone has a chance at 0-0, and I'll be honest, this team looks much better than I anticipated on the court. They may be very good. Who knows. So I'd suggest keep that to himself, because the rookies believe, and that's a good thing. The truth is what it is, and it is ok to speak the truth, but not until it is, or was, or is guaranteed to be.

Even if they cant compete you are suppose to set an example for the rookies. Its not good to have an attitude coming into this league that you are not going to compete.that is horrible leadership.

If he plays like last year, then maybe so. If he continues to play like this pre-season, I think teams will be lining up to get him.

A shooter with an expiring $12 mill contract? Yeah, don't worry somebody is going to want that.

Kmart is just stating the truth. At least he's not delusional and believes the Rockets can compete for a championship. I don't know why some of you guys are so worked up about this.

Kmart knows the Rockets better than all of us. LA and OKC are powerhouses and even the defending champs will have a hard time against those 2 teams, not alone the Rockets. He's talking about the 2 best team in the West, the Rockets are probably not even the best 8 team.

One team has a scoring machine that is almost 7 foot tall and moves like a guard along with one of the most athletic PG in the league and also is stack with great role players and the best sixth man. The other has the best SG in the league who is one of the best clutch players ever along with the best center in the NBA right now and another 7 footer who is a good passing big man that is a consistent all star. Plus, they just added a HOF PG to their team.

The Rockets on the other hand has a lot of young talented rookies and overall, the youngest team in the NBA.
