So, one more preseason game until roster cuts. Pretty sure Brockman (eye injury) and Ja1 Johnson (never gets off the bench) are gone. Who is the last cut? Livingston, Smith, Machado or someone else?
I hope it's Machado. There is nothing special about him so no point in keeping him. I like Livingston as our back up and hopefully Toney as our third stringer.
livingston had a good showing tonight, and proved that he is still pretty agile, i prefer him than Macado
Cut Douglas. He has a proven track record of suckiness and he can't run the offense. Would rather see Lamb get minutes at SG than TD so no use keeping him around.
Knee jerk reaction? Fair weather? Only 2 weeks ago Machado was supposed to be the future starting PG after his 10 assists performance. I don't think the Rockets are letting him go.
Since McHale went WAY out of his way to give extended minutes tonight to Livingston and Smith, it has to be between the two of them who stays and who goes. Pretty sad because I really didn't care much for the T. Douglas signing and wouldn't mind seeing him cut despite the fact that he's had a solid camp. Both guys played well tonight, and showed alot of positives. Bill talked tonight also about how much time and energy they have invested into Greg Smith, and how much the coaches want him to grab the backup center spot. I think if its a backup center the Rockets need Smith is a better option than chasing after a big goon like Fesenko, or trading for someone like Biedrins. If the Rockets see the backup center position as a big of a problem as the rest of Clutchfans does, I think the final spot should go to Smith. If they want to go with the better player, and more valuable trade asset, Shaun Livingston is the way to go. I guess we will see in a few days which way the Rockets choose to go.
If we keep Livingston then we should cut TD. Keep Machado because of his youth and potential. Keep Smith because he is the only other true center on the team outside of Asik and because he is so increadibly young. Brockman JJ TD should be the final cuts.
Only reason Douglas didn't play tonight was to give Livingston a chance to fight for the last spot. Same with D-Mo not playing to give Smith minutes.
"T. Douglas signing"??? He wasn't signed, he was dumped by the Knicks in the Camby sign & trade along with other spare parts for salary matching purposes (and the deal also gave us 2 future 2nd rounders). The Knicks even sent enough cash to pay Douglas' salary...understanding his suckage factor. He actually wasn't terrible in his first two seasons, but was HORRIBLE last season, shooting .324 with a 7.12 PER.
Seriously, what's up with JaJuan Johnson? Is he that bad or does he have too many J's in his name? I thought he was a serviceable big that was being groomed for Garnett's spot. He must really be in McHale's doghouse.
