It's funny you said exactly what I was thinking. His best marketing is playing well, that's for sure.

That's a very fair point and something worthy for discussion. Even LOFs need to consider the other side of the coin too- and vice versa.

But I have a feeling the dude is still gonna have a great year, its just a matter of him getting his rhythm and health back, and also developing more chemistry with his teammates.

I beg to differ. His shooting was on par with the HOFers during that win streak. It just dropped off severely after the mavericks game.

This is one of those games you don't look at the stat lines....... For how awful Jeremy Lin was handling the ball, his defensive play more than made up for it. He caused maybe eight or nine Hornets turnovers, in which he didn't get credit for a steal. (The most notable one was inducing a five-second violation on a Hornets in-bounds play. Induced a travelling call on transition. Several lost balls knocking it away. He may have induced three or four more Hornets turnovers has some of those moving screens been called.)

What's scary about this Rockets team is how good they might be if Lin starts performing well offensively. Unlike the Knicks, the Rockets don't need a good statistical game from Lin in order to win. The team defense may have already started to gel.

And 3 pointers and jumpshots, he was hitting something like 60%. Go look it up. He just got insanely hot.

Your'e r****ded. The team won because of defense and guess who contributed a lot, as always on the defensive end. Without Lin, this team would not have good flow, YOU just can't see it.

Lin's shot is off. He's lost confidence in it. He's driving in with no place to go. He's turning it over. True.

We're winning (with Lin, 4-1, albeit in the preseason). There's a reason for it. Just think about it.. If you can. And no, it's not cuz our offense is such a well-oiled machine that they are PICKING UP the starting PGs suckage and still pulling out wins.

I just want to see Lin score over 10 points in one game, is that too much to ask? I do agree that our players are not setting good picks for him and that he's playing pretty good defense (you better play tough D when your shots are not falling though). :)

The D tonight was great and I like the improvement over the last couple of games. The last game of the pre season should be interesting to watch, to see which players get the minutes that didn't play tonight. I wonder who will be cut by the 31st. It sure looks like Smith will make the roster.

Lin is playing to the extreme right now. its either he's driving full head on towards the basket or he's passing off the ball and going to the corner and acting like a spot up 3 point shooter.

he wasnt like that in new york.

he was involved in the offense. he was confident and took the initiative on offense. He was savvy on offense. he had a great in between the post and perimeter game ie floaters and mid range jumpers.

that has totally disappeared. he looks unsure on offense.

he might be in the beginning stages of a sophomore slump. a bad case.

still its wayyy too early to make final definitive take on his game.

Lin offensive was struggling like mad. But defensively he was very impressive. At the same time he was managing the offense very well. He made a lot of really sweet passes. The Rockets are executing a very crisp offense which is very rare for a young team but it is pre-season so whatever. All in all a good game from Lin his defense really took him over the edge. I am thinking that in the regular season teams are going to make it harder for him to score (hollinger predicted this) & also he will definitely have his poor offensive nights but if his passing & defense is solid that will have to carry him & the team game by game.

Lin's shooting was decent last season. im pretty shocked to see him shoot this bad.

But again, shooting's supposed to be the easiest thing to fix, and he ran the team pretty well and cut his TOs(except for tonight). Hopefully he can get his rhythm back or we will STRUGGLE on offence.

"r****ded" is pretty harsh. Let's not go overboard. I do agree with you in that if Rockets win more than they lose with Lin leading them at PG position, that's a good thing. I really hope Lin doesn't end the season with a per game point of 7 points or less. That really would suck.
