I got a warning from a female cop when I was pulled over for rolling through a stop sign. I had just dropped my friend off after we had a few beers. I thought for sure I was toast, until......

I see a female cop walking up. Easiest target

I've probably had around 6 warnings and maybe 2 tickets .. I'm usually just like " you got me" .Playing stupid, arguing with the cop or showing attitude is not the way to go.

Be strong, a cop friend can be a nice asset in the future. You will eventually be able to live with the shame.

White. They probably just assume that I have money... Anyway, being polite never got me out of a ticket. I haven't been pulled over in a long time, but next time, I'll be sure to give the officer a few explitives.

Hmm. I think I'm batting about .500 in getting off with a warning. Once, I was driving through Dallas and got pulled over. The cop let me off with a warning and said "next time you drive through MY city, slow down". lol

If you got a ticket you were most likely in the wrong..you being an a$$ to the guy only makes the situation worse and guarantees a ticket in the best-case scenario. Remember these guys are risking their lives every time they pull someone over. Police don't like giving tickets..but they HAVE to. For all they know you could be a murderer with a gun by your side. Being a jerk to them does NO good for any situation, so why would YOU make things worse because YOU got caught doing something wrong?

I've got about three warnings for minor car infraction, no turn signal changing lanes, and one seat belt. The cops never documented a warning. Why the hell would they? It's waste of time, might as well just give the person a ticket.

Because it isn't really wrong. Do you think its morally wrong to run a stop sign if nobody is there and nobody is hurt?

I've actually gotten a few of those.

When I was a teen, I got pulled over somewhere in the area of 8-10 times before I graduated high school. Drove away from each of those w/o a ticket. Not sure why. Can't claim big breasts or just extraordinary good looks...just played respectful to the cops.

Once I turned 18 and got my first ticket, it was all downhill from there. I seem to get them in bunches. I'll go 3 or 4 years w/o one, then get 3 in a matter of months.

Evidently someone was there (the cop) - if you didn't see him who knows who else you may have not seen. A dog, a child?
Still, even Martin Luther King said that if you break a law you SHOULD be prepared and WILLING to face the punishment..even if the law is unjust.

Again, if YOU break the law..don't get mad at the Cop for doing his job. Maybe you should be mad at yourself for breaking the law.

I got a ticket for speeding in Louisiana this summer...It was my fault because I was speeding. I was frustrated with myself..but I was still polite to the cop & he was polite to me. He even told me what to tell the police station when I called them in order for it to Not go on my record. If I had given him attitude, he probably wouldn't have given me that advice.

Bad Attitudes only make situations worse.

I run stop signs all of the time and I haven't been ticketted in years. I haven't hit any dogs or children and nobody has been hurt. Is breaking the law as I do every day morally wrong?

In my context, usually that constitutes only a raised voice and I have been lied to by multiple cops to my face on how fast they said i was going and claim I wasn't wearing a seatbelt when I was. I even had a cop yell at me to start cause I was trying find a safe place to pull over and he thought i qas taking to long. my response in that case was to yell back at him I was trying to find a safe place to pullover so he could ticket me when he lit me up. So, those were my negative incidents per traffic stops. Last time I had no problem being pulled over cause I was treated respectfully and not lied to. You treat me right...I treat you right.

Didn't know there's actually a written warning in existence.

I've always acted like a foreigner and acted lost and despaired whenever I got pulled over. Just make up some random accent. That has always gotten me off with a verbal warning. Just don't do the Borat accent and say "very naaaace!" at the end of every sentence.

I got pulled over for not using a turn signal to change lanes (pretty sure I did, but I didn't argue) and he let me go with a warning.

"I run stop signs all the time and I've never hurt anyone"
"I text and drive all the time and I've never hurt anyone"
"I drink and drive all the time an I've never hurt anyone"

Maybe not yet, but the potential and likelihood is there. That's why we have those laws.

As far as the question of morality..it doesn't matter. Like I said in an earlier post Martin Luther King says that if you break a law..even an UNJUST law, you should be prepared to ACCEPT the punishment.

To the orgional post as long as you don't get pulled over by the same cop you should be fine.

To the person that said they had a few dranks, pulled over by a female cop, worked his magic, and got a warning. I call BS.

I did afew ride alongs. The officers said as long as you don't get pulled over for anything serious, show respect, and don't act stupid you'll most likely get a warning. Show some additude and what was a warning can turn into a ticket really fast.
