If President Obama wins Ohio, he can afford to lose Florida, Virginia (although I think he wins here), Colorado (see Virginia), North Carolina, Nevada (see Virginia), and New Hampshire (see Virginia), as long as he carries Wisconsin, Iowa, and Pennsylvania, and he will. I don't see a route for a Romney victory. Not if Obama wins Ohio.

So he's gonna win every toss-up state. We wouldn't expect anything less from a Republican fan-boy. Your knees must be awfully sore by now.
Big 10 is solidly in the Blue camp. Unions get the day off to vote over there, and they should more than offset the Red pockets from the burbs.
I agree Ohio is the ticket to victory. He can get by without it, but it becomes so difficult. They need Ohio or Wisconsin+Iowa/NH. Obama will win Nevada, PA, WI, & IA. I think Romney carries NH/NC/CO/VA/FL (These are the closest race and giving him the benefit of the doubt in every one). I think Ohio goes to Obama.
Excellent piece, and many thanks for sharing that. So sad. The false equivalency held up by the media will absolutely be abused by whichever "team" sees the country's politics as a win-at-all-costs football game. It's like having referees who feel they must call equal numbers of penalties, no matter what. If you lack ethics, you will constantly commit flagrant penalties, since, in the end, it won't hurt you more than your opponent.
Republicans flat-out lying? Noo. I don't believe it. I need proof. I don't blame the party for making up stuff as they go along. I don't blame the super-rich for supporting them. I blame the ones that have nothing to gain and a lot to lose by electing them into office.
Ohio is absolutely critical to both campaigns. In this election, I think the win will go to whoever carries Ohio. It's possible for Obama to win without it, but as you say, difficult. Without Ohio, Romney is toast.
Agree, and I don't expect Ohio to be called until VERY late in the night. Hell, maybe not even until Wednesday morning if a few counties are still working.
2004 all over again. Which is funny, since we now have a President half the country disapproves of, and the challenger is a flip flopper of great wealth.
It'll have much less to do with voter suppression (which is grotesque in and of itself) than with someone having hacked into the electronic voting machines. I've read enough about these things and I saw an HBO documentary on it. Naturally if I mention it I get the "you're not exactly partial, you wear a tin-foil hat" attitude, but Kerry was robbed of Ohio in 2004 because of it. So it's happened before. I really don't want to put up with jopatmc's smugness should Romney "win" Ohio, because if the election is not rigged, Romney cannot win.
I love that you have no issue with Romney being characterized as a flip flopper. But dang it, you absolutely need to make sure the wealth is described as earned!
