When I called UVerse to cancel, they asked me if I already bought service from Comcast or other provider, I told them no way I'm going back with Comcast. Then lady Destiny talked to her manager and came back to tell me the good news. I'm not sure if they're playing me to stay but I doubt that's the case. It can be that part of their agreement with Comcast is not to make a big announcement until preseason is over?
These contract negotiations have nothing to do with league pass. I have time Warner cable in Austin and I get to see the Rockets on CSN (via league pass and if its a home game of course)
This is the only Rockets thread I read now. If we the fans who do not live in the Houston area remain blacked out, no use reading the other threads because if I can't see the Rockets play I am not following them. Really sad because I went to buy some Texan's gear and there was much more Rockets stuff. I bought the Texan's stuff. Morey and Les have the team so screwed up anyway, there is not much incentive left. So, if I can't see them play, what's the point?
I got so fed up I called ATT yesterday just so I could feel like I took some action. Ended up in Bombay? She of course checked for me to see which channel I could upgrade too to get it (sic) Rediculuos. Git er done dammit or I'm dropping you for the horrible comcast!
I didn't threaten them. I just said nicely that i'm cancelling it because the only reason I have cable TV is to be able to watch rockets games. I also told them that I'm not going to subscribe to other providers esp Comcast and I'll just wait until Uverse make it available.
I told her I didn't want to have to find a new provider, but that eventually I would if they didn't end up with this channel.
I remember when we first got cable back in the late 70's or early 80's or when ever it was. I thought it was great. Of course, we only had about 36 channels, and we had a giant remote with a bunch of buttons tethered to the TV, but I thought it was great. But now the cable company has me. It doesn't matter if it's Comcast, U-verse, DirectTV or whatever. I'm addicted worse than a crackhead is addicted to cocaine. The cable companies knew what they were doing, oh they knew exactly what the were doing. It was cheap and wonderful at first, but over time the cost went up and my addiction grew stronger and stronger. Go without Game of Thrones? Not going to happen. Go without Homeland? Not going to happen. Go without the Rockets? Not going to happen. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place all right. Maybe I need an intervention, but who is willing to intervene? Everyone else is just as addicted as I am. What has the world become. I'm also addicted to the internet. The internet that is provided by the cable company.
EXACTLY how I feel now. I haven't seen a game or even a highlight, and honestly with Football still on and a huge backlog of DVR'd shows I'm catching up on...I really don't care anymore. Catching up on American Horror Story, Homeland and Dexter is much more entertaining than the crap I've been watching on the court for the past few years.
You should get paid to be the cable ads man:grin:. I, on the other hand, think the cable companies should pay me to watch those endless ads and brainwashing propoganda shiit.
F'n ridiculous! I can't even watch a preseason game b/c of this crap. They better get this squared away quick!
I get an email from rockets.com today, rockets vs hornets on uverse nba tv at 7, finally I get to see a game I say to myself happily. I sit down at 7 and find the uverse nba channel - F&@KING BLACKED OUT! Aaaaaahhhhhh! I am so freaking pissed. I watch every game but I haven't been able to watch one minute. This sucks so bad. fu rockets and fu Leslie! Fu!
October 24, 2012: Fan's Log #2 Continued checking clutchfans for good news. Still nothing. Thought we could see the Rockets in the horizon but it was only a Laker game. Must be the mind playing tricks. There's still hope left for the Rockets but its dwindling. Got to keep strong.
I had my TV sitting on 1632 for a few minutes waiting on whatever game NBATV was going to show (hadn't checked the guide). Then the blackout notice came up at 7:00pm.
This is beyond frustrating (I have DirecTV). Why did the Rockets email everyone stating that it was on NBA TV?
Does anyone know how to get through to the Rockets organization. On their web site there is no "contact us" function. As crappy as they are treating us with this "blackout" situation, I wouldn't want to hear from thousands of angry fans either.
