That failed rally in the second is pretty typical of what the Cardinals have been dealing with in the last three games of this series. That was one of the strangest "hits" I've ever seen. Some nice write-ups about it in the interim. The ball hit the bat three separate times, including a kind of atl-atl like roll off the barrel. This could have provided whacky spin that helped the ball elude the shortstop. Hunter has been pretty stinky since he came to the Giants, but his enthusiasm is so perfect for this team and its city.
