Who is a "top TE" anyway? With the exception of Tony Gonzalez, every "top" TE has been disappointing at one point or another this year. Graham, Gronk, Hernandez, Davis, Davis, Rudolph. Daniels has probably been the second most consistent performer after Gonzalez. I'd try to swing a trade, but I'd be careful what I give up for a "top" TE and be objective about value. Don't pay for reputation, pay for performance. If you're in a TE bind, now would be a good time to take a grab at one Mr. Cooley.
Seems like a steep price, but how many WRs do you start? If the other guy does need WR help, I'd probably do just Austin first.
Standard League I usually start only two and use a RB for my flex. There will be one week where I will use 3 WR.
He just counter-offered Tony Gonzalez for C.J. Spiller. I don't know, spiller is good and consistent, but I am thinking about doing it because he shares the ball with fred jackson. And I am really weak at TE. That would leave me with 3 RB.
I just think that the points Nelson has put up recently will make his owners believe he is worth more than Sproles. Sproles has had his bye but he has to face tougher defenses in upcoming games (Falcons x2, Denver, Philly, SF, NYG, Dallas) while Nelson gets some pretty lax ones (Jacksonville, Tennessee, Detroit x2). If you believe Sproles is so good and you're not getting equal value in return, why trade him?
do it. Atlanta is moving the ball at will, and Gonalez is redzone target #1. the RB situation at the end of the year becomes pretty fluid with injuries. with Buffalo sporting Fragile Fred and SpillIR it wouldn't surprise me to see Choice as a feature back before the end of the season.
Graham/Gronk/Gonzalez Graham's injury has been his problem, but before getting hurt he was having a good season. Last season was a historic season, and wasn't going to happen again, but those guys are still the cream of the crop. Owen Daniels I would buy cheap enough. Heath Miller has been the big surprise of this season.
Ok, I was just proposed Gronkowski for Andre Johnson and Miles Austin the other option is Tony Gonzalez for Spiller. I am trying to figure out if I should just stick with my guys and hope that Pitta steps it up. I have RB: A. Foster, A. Morris, C.J. Spiller, Chris Johnson WR: Roddy White, Percy Harvin, Andre Johnson, Miles Austin, D. Bowe TE: Dennis Pitta, Greg Olsen
Can you guys explain in further detail why you would do this? I am just worried Chris Johnson does horrible and morris or foster get injured.
Spiller is in a time share. Huge value if Fred Jackson gets hurt again, but right now you don't need him. You do need a TE. If you could give up just one of your receivers instead, I'd say do that, but since he countered for Spiller, it is the best deal you are likely to get. I do like Gronk better, but I don't like the idea of giving up AJ & Austin for him. If you can get Daniels for say Olsen + AJ/Austin/Bowe, I'd probably go that way.
At the time I posed the question, my running backs were Ray Rice, Reggie Bush, MJD, Sproles, Vick Ballard, and Jonathan Dwyer. I'm in a 14-team league, so there are a few teams who are desperate for RB's, and out of Sproles/Ballard/Dwyer, I figured Sproles to have the highest value. But now that MJD is out, I may just hang on to Sproles, get Rashad Jennings off waivers, and try to trade Ballard/Dwyer.
So my trade of Miles Austin and Dwayne Bowe for Gronk goes through on Thursday. I have Cardinals Defense, If I could steal Chicago D that would be great, ravens D is on waivers should I pick up or is their value low considering ray lewis is done for the season?
