You's a lie. It was all red. People probably left at halftime when it was game over

McNair is probably kicking himself in not building an 80,000 stadium (with more luxury suites and club seats).

Six Flags stupidly sold Astroworld six years too late. That site would be perfect for a big stadium.

Not really... only really way to get to that side is off 610.

Far more infrastructure and roads leading to the stadium already in place due to the Astrodome.

What they could have done was develop a gameday experience area where non tail-gaters could congregate and walk across the bridge together.

I doubt they would have sold out every game in franchise history if there were 80,000 seats.

a lot of digging with the oxes went into that stadium, so it's good seeing it without empty seats.
and is it just me or does mcnair sometimes really look like sloan's dad, terrence mcquewick?

The idiot CEO of Six Flags sold a profitable park because his ass was on the line. In the end, they still kicked him out and we lost a theme park.

I dunno... they haven't come close to NOT selling out a game.

But, the stadium is fine as is.... bigger capacity usually simply means more luxury suites and upper deck seats... and we know from how poor Cowboys stadium's home field advantage is now, it doesn't always create a more intimidating environment.

That has always confused me. How is this a more attended game than last week which was against the Packers on national t.v?? I wonder why that is

Lol, that isn't true at all. First of all, most people use 610 to get to the games anyway. When I lived in Houston, I lived out west. The couple of Texans games I went to, I took the Westpark Tollway to 59, 59 to 610, exit Kirby. The Astroworld site is in a nice little box bounded by 610 to the North, Bellfort to the South (and Bellfort is one long ass road), Kirby on the West and Fannin on the East. Bellfort creates a nice parallel to 610 for the South side, something the north side of 610 does not have. More roads directly surrounding the Astroworld site than Reliant. Most of Houston lives outside of 610 anyway, so not having to cross inside 610 would make it easier for some people.

This is all hypothetical anyway. Just saying the Astroworld site became vacant a little too late. I'm sure if it was vacant back then, McNair would have used that as the site and done something fancy with the bridge over 610. But, unless they buy that land back from developers, it isn't going to become that gameday experience idea.

The reason why the Cowboys Stadium is terrible is because of Jerry Jones. He made sure he placed it in a city that does not want mass transit (more money from his outrageous parking prices), he has dancing girls on poles, Ford car displays in the stadium, outrageous ticket prices, and the biggest one of them all......a team that has constantly been mediocre. It's the way Jerry designed that stadium...not that it has 80,000 seats.

Yeah I know, Astroworld was in the top five for attendance for Six Flags park and the board wasn't very happy with the decision. Six Flags was still in financial hell after the sale and it didn't help any.

More people bought tickets and were able to go. Maybe too many ticket brokers tried to make too much money last week and couldn't unload all the tickets. Maybe some people didn't go last week because of the OU-UT game. I also know that this game had more promotions for out of town people, along with it being a noon start.

    Who knows...
