tallanvor, I'm actually leaning towards Romney...but then y'all get evasive and defend your position by asking me questions. Weirds me out. Watch now. No Obama fan will do that. But then they will get all technical and just alienate me. relax dudes....both parties are not convincing me...you have 1 week
what do u mean? I told you a republican position on an issue you asked. that's not defensive. the republican position on education is to diminish federal government involvement so you get multiple solutions across the country. Multiple solutions leads to more choices for American citizens and finding the best solution. These stances on all these issues are on their website (though sometimes they can be vague). I can't help but feel you are looking for attention heypartner.
sounds like you are a drone. deflection again H S E + Future I'm done with you tallanovor...talk to me again,,,,and you will lose my vote
You can probably go with Obama on healthcare, assuming you feel that's something that needed to be altered; for all their alternate proposals against AHCAA, republicans really didn't want to do anything now or in '93, or when Truman was talking about it 60 years ago. Republicans on defense. Dem Senators or Blue Dogs if you think that includes diplomacy. Education is based on your priorities, experiences and resources. The public school, university and student loan complexes aren't going anywhere; so any incremental effect on 10-15-20 year olds spending their free time doing word problems is coming from their parents or peer group. GOP aligns itself with fake for profit colleges, but their demographic base expects their kids to get the best jobs and education of anyone in the country; so the current system will either be enhanced or at least preserved in one way or another. I don't know that any of these answers, including the environment, have changed in the last 40 years, so you might want to add some issues. This may be what makes me a little cynical about not all undecided voters but the ones who agree to be interviewed or on television, I think they're either looking for attention or using politics as a proxy for some other frustrations.
oh your vote depends on what someone posts on the web. you sound like part of the solution.... I'm with the dems on this one. get lost. I'm done with your petty begging for attention. you don;t give a **** about the issues. you even tried to use your vote as a threat..... unreal
I didn't really mean to say I was including education as Presidential choice. because i know better It's a local choice.
I cast my ballot as a Libertarian, so I have some major biases against both candidates, absolutely. However, this post is just flat out goofy. I don't have complete faith in Romney's foreign policy ideas, being a GOP puppet. However, Obama doesn't exactly have a clear cut history with wars (especially not one that matches his promises). Romney's healthcare ideas are messy and expensive and not altogether contrary to Obamacare. But of course, when pressed on the issue, he will naturally fake that he is against anything and everything Obama has ever done. Obama has shown a poor record of allocating money efficiently OR jumpstarting the economy. Don't get me wrong, I won't award Romney any points on this either. Being the GOP nominee gives me no assurance of anything fiscally. The point I disagree most with is this overblown idea that Romney lives to protect the 1%. Rumors of Romney's obsession with the rich are GREATLY overexaggerated. Obama's is quite well off as well, which I don't hold against him, and Romney has a track record of volunteer work. The idea that Romney doesn't know how the middle class lives has proven to be wildly effective propaganda (similar to OMG Obama is a socialist, or OMG Obama is a Muslim). The last point Raven made is the one I agree with most, for what it's worth. Once again I think Obama is spectacular at using vast sums of money inefficiently. However, he is more progressive towards energy than Romney, which is appealing. If I could give you one thing to help you decide, it would be this: if our politicians aren't doing a bang-up job in office, it's our job to remind them who is in control here. Give the incumbent the boot. If you want to reward mediocrity, that's your prerogative.
I voted for the O in 2008 and I'm flipping to Mitt this year (same for my wife and parents). I never thought I'd see the day... My parents live in Cuyahoga County which I believe supported Obama w/70% of the votes in '08. Judging purely by what my parents think, it's looking like 50% - 50% split for Obama this year. Lots of disfranchised people...
Heypartner, Vote for whomever you think can best run this country and BJ don't concern yourself with worrying whther others approve of whom you voted for. That's kid thinking.
I just want to know how someone making millions of dollars only pay 13% in tax. I make 6 figures and own a business and i havent figuered that scam out yet.
I had a feeling you'd be a big tease before showing your priorities... Healthcare= Romney has made it a campaign pledge to eliminate Romney/Obamacare without detailing his alternative. Risky move dealing with ambiguity and a Democratic senate majority... Letting Obamacare play out in the next 4-10 years will be pretty volatile but it's only volatile because we needed something like this a decade ago and now the boomers are slowly jumping head first into that safety net. Defense= It's pretty much the "Bush status quo" as the baseline (outside of torture, the President has ramped up all of the notorious Bush policies), but with Romney openly courting adversarial relationships against Putin and war with Iran, this is a no brainer. Obama has been using his CIA spec ops/drone war pretty heavily to avoid international and domestic recrimination through legal ambiguities, but this will not last as the ****storm he's been brewing on international borders (namely Pakistan) starts to expand beyond any foreseeable nor controllable future. This is really a 'lessor evils' issue as Romney would relish in the 'pragmatic and less involved' option Obama has ramped up, and he'd undoubtedly use that to its fullest in conjunction with his saber rattling. Don't pay any attention to the 'lead from behind' charges. Obama and Clinton are using their soft power chips to the fullest, as much as they can right after Bush raided that cookie jar and smashed it to bits. Environment= Believe it or not, that's a loaded question. Some people think the environment is a scam to hurt businesses, if you do, vote Romney and you'll be less disappointed than Obama. OTOH, Obama supported domestic offshore drilling before the BP disaster, so he isn't some tree hugger either. The dramatic changes you'll see here is on a departmental level. A half assed attempt by the Obama admin to enforce regulations is better than one you saw during the Bush era where they spent all their funding on lavish offices rather than departmental responsibilities. I don't see or have read any reason why Romney would do things differently than how Bush did (and didn't do). Education= This is a tough one. I want teacher unions to go. I want them marginalized or gone. They swing heavily democratic and they have many friends. Neither president is going to change that. Romney might give a bigger effort than the president. The president does not have the capital to poke that bear. Not gonna happen in his term. If he does try to change something, it'll be re-imaging NCLB into something more abominable.
Romney will enact the same measures that got us into this economic mess in the first place. Many people exist who would prefer a person who will maintain the current hierarchical power structure, no matter what the cost. All of those people will vote for Romney. They are, today, the equivalent of what the Loyalists were just prior to the American Revolution. Maintain the existing power structure, no matter what the cost.
