Youth has not stopped Lin from getting injured. He has already been injured this year. He is just coming back from knee surgery and rehab. Who knows if he can go pain-free for 82 games? Name a team that doesn't have a player better than any players we have Even the bobcats have a stud in MKG.
please tell me what you gonna trade martin for? you cant traded a 12.5 mill salary for a draft pick and no contending teams can take on his salary. ALso mchale isnt gonna get rid of our best scorer with this subpar team on the floor. You guys in here need to think before typing
How can fans be actually rooting for their team to fail?? Its so pathetic! The NBA has to get rid of tanking!
Before the preseason, I predicted 36 wins. I didn't get to watch much preseason basketball, but from what I've heard and the highlights I've watched I think I overrated what this team would do. I now think we'll win in the 30-35 range. If Martin is traded early on for a draft pick or something, then we could easily win less than 30.
Yeah I think this Rockets team will yield us a top 6 pick specially with Martin possibly traded in the trading deadline with maybe Patrick Patterson too considering how many young PF's the Rockets have who have more pontential than PAT PAT... This Rockets team will be a slighty better at best .500 team at home and a struggling losing record at the road... I seen enough in the preseason to tell me this Rockets team aint a playoff one... Too much youth with rookies that are learning but have good upside and a decent pg still unproven during a whole season and very limited inside scoring which equals to a 30 win team...
What NBA teams is going to want KMARTs contract??? HE IS STAYING HERE AFTER THE TRADE DEADLINE weather you like it or not watch him stay here. Tanks to win?? Has it worked for the Bobcats, Raptors, Warriors, Kings, Bucks NOOOO. It has only worked for Twolves and Thunder which is rare to do. The way to win is what Heat, Clippers, Knicks, Nets did which is FREE AGENCY
I agree with you. I think we are a 30 win team. A 30 win team is at the very best a #5 pick. Las Vegas bookies think we are about a 30 win team also. I don't see us doing much better than that. Losing Lowry, Dragic, Lee, Scola, the Bear, and Camby was pretty huge. If Martin or Lin go down to injury for an length of time then we will be absolutely horrible. We won't have anyone who can create a shot or kind of run an offense (meaning Lin can't really run an offense that well). That said I think McHale will keep this team playing hard so I don't think things will go completely down the toilet.
Rockets are really young and it's hard to predict how the young guys are going to play night in and night out, We also do not have a legitimate back-up center... and that's going to hurt. I don't really have any high expectations for this season but I am excited to watch our team develop and make some highlight reels on the way.
Good points, though OKC is really the only team to do well lottery wise. Twolves have been worse longer than any of those teams. This year they made their team better through free agency/trade with a crop of new players like Roy, AK, Cunningham, Air Bud, Shved, and Steisma. They accumulated lottery busts left and right with Foye, Flynn, Wes Johnson, and their #2 pick Dwill looks shaky. All these busts were top 5 picks. FA is the new NBA. You manage your money well, keep the team attractive, you can bring talent in. Imagine this lineup if Morey went after Iggy, could be 5-6 seed: Lin Martin Iggy PPat Asik
But if we did that, we might not come within a few extra loses of drafting a star, which is clearly not the Rockets way. We want to be just close enough to think we have a chance to trade up and then watch our plan collapse at the last minute, which is so much more exciting and fun that doing it the way other teams do. You know, the teams that actually end up getting the players they needed. Dumping vets for a better draft position is so philistine. You know, like how the Blazers decided to thin their roster, so they could lose a few extra games and draft Meyers Leonard. The same player we could have drafted had we simply lost an extra half dozen games. But then we couldn't have been able to draft Royce No Fly White and show the league how much smarter than everyone else we are.
Every season since Yao Ming went down was the perfect season to tank-- All those 41/40 win season got us a low pick and 9th seed/1st exit. This tanking project has been a long time. Look at McHale's track record, Morey should just back off and let him do what he does best
A team that tanks on purpose is a team not worthy of my respect... Just another version of a Government bail out NBA style... ... Tanking on purpose should be penalize!!!!
