Romney's lead represents a 6-point jump in support when compared with 43% support this summer, while Obama's 45% shows 3-point drop from a high of 48% in past polls. Romney continues to keep a strong lock on the GOP vote, winning Republicans by an 86-9 margin, while still syphoning 18% of the Democratic vote mainly from social and cultural Democrats, affectionately referred to as "Reagan Democrats". Romney also leads by 12 points among registered Independents (47-35) - a statistically significant finding perhaps the first time proving Independent and swing voters are breaking his way.

Romney's lead is proof his strong debate performances are having a lasting impact, as evidenced by our last poll conducted 10/4-10/6 which showed Mitt Romney with a healthy favorable image (+6 positive, or 48-42 favorable) and even better than Obama's (+3 positive, or 50-47). This is clear evidence the debates have helped not only win over swing and undecided voters, but are neutralizing the negative perceptions Pennsylvanians had of Romney from negative TV ads sponsored by Obama supported super PACs. Furthermore, regional support shows Romney has managed to run up big margins in Western Pa. with conservative Democrats and at the same time make significant inroads in the socially-moderate, vote-rich Philadelphia suburbs where Romney now leads 48-46. Winning the suburban Philadelphia collar counties would be an historic accomplishment since no Republican presidential nominee has carried these counties in decades.

VP candidate Paul Ryan will be holding rallies there tomorrow.

SP&R is a leading survey research and public opinion polling firm, and conducts polling primarily on behalf of candidates for public office in PA, NJ, NY, FL and DE, as well as for numerous corporate and media clients. According to a composite listing of polls by realclearpolitics.com SP&R was the most accurate polling firm in the 2010 elections in both the PA US Senate race (Toomey/Sestak) and the Florida Gubernatorial Primary (Scott/McCollum).

You do realize that Bob Marley would probably be against every single thing you're advocating here, right?

But he'd be very good about confusedly posting week-old data and confusing it with the present day, and generally struggling with complex factual arguments.

You do know that Bob believed the Bible to be inerrant and the rule of his faith? So on that alone Bob would probably vote Repub, if no Rasta party existed.

And SAM, start posting complex factual arguments and we will see if I have any problems with that.

There are many many Christian Democrats. Anyway I doubt the actual Bob Marley would support either major US party.

Exactly. Lots of Democrats believe life begins at conception (like Christians) and they believe in the freedom to murder that human. Like Biden.

Yeah, it's so true that the Bible, Jesus, and Bob Marley all advocated: (1) spending the majority of our money on advanced weaponry, (2) wealth accumulation to Roman Empire extremes, (3) telling the poor that they're on their own, and (4) deporting immigrants.

Or wait. Maybe I am reading the wrong Bible? Is there a Bizarro Jesus?

You all will have to pardon bigtexxx's brief post. He has had a real, real bad day, and he may be short of breath.

i'm getting the point that, **** it, if the majority don't believe in equality and a real vision for the future, we're ****ed and so be it. i live in a bubble called nyc and we'll be fine. we're gonna end up the germany of the united states. i want to risk the present on the future, i don't care about making it attractive for businesses to start or come here. we need to balance the budget but i don't think that's the priority right now. it's stupid to change direction right now. the economy will get worse if romulan gets elected. trust me.

just to take one example from your post, how many "immigrants" has Obama deported, relative to his predecessors?

i would note for the record, despite your (purposeful?) formulation above, what's at issue is the deportation of illegal immigrants.
