    We turn in our reports in to a site that checks for plagiarism. Apparently the ******* didn't change his paper enough because the system reported a 66% similarity.

    Nah, we basically just changed the construction of the sentences. Content was 100% the same and the grade was supposed to be 100% on content.

    Ignore all these high horse riders. It's a freshman science lab report--copying each other's stuff is pretty much prescribed in the syllabus.

    he didn't cheat. he let a friend cheat. there's no benefit whatsoever to him. that's not cheating.

    You're lucky. A small or competitive enough private college you'd be out on your ass. Find out what you really want to do and put all your time and energy into getting it. You will regret every single minute you wasted while in college, or your twenties.

    I remember in high school, we all used to copy each other. I think I got A's all year without doing much work. Some of the others got C's and B's.
