Because they're so different! I understand the blah blah, all these politicians are same stuff.. But just looking at social and women's issues, how you feel about the military defense theres a huge disparity between the two. If you don't know by now, you're living under a rock...
This is crazy. They have completely opposite agendas. If one is undecided at this point, he is either a (very) low-information voter or he votes on style (which may change) and not substance (which will not). I'm especially baffled that FranchiseBlade, an otherwise very educated and tuned-in person, might be persuaded to change his mind this late in the process. The candidates are the opposites of one another.
Any you undecided by any chance? I really would love to hear a full opinion and example from someone who is.
I am not going to fault FB even though I voted decided. While it is unlikely it's not impossible that something huge could come out that changes my vote.
F***k man, how could you ever bring yourself to vote for Romney? He has no principles, no convictions, no compassion, no experience other than raping vulnerable companies, running a budget-less Olympics and going along with Democrats in Massachusetts so he looked competent. He will do 100% what the K Street lobbyist tell him to do and it will be to screw regular people and let robber barons pollute, socialize losses, and dodge their responsibility. He will let the House continue to be anti-science, anti-progress and anti-religious freedom. If your snively lying b*stard radar isn't going off for Romney you don't have one.
It's no where near that. More like 6-8% or so nationally. In fact studies show this is the lowest undecided % in a long time. People are pretty set with their vote.
I could just as reasonably make the claim that you're voting to keep power in the hands of the people that got us into this mess to begin with. The star speaker at the DNC this year was the guy who was president during the start of the housing bubble. The same guy who deregulated the over-the-counter derivatives (credit default swaps) that were largely responsible for the crisis. The same guy who repealed Glass-Steagall.
Maybe the undecided voter doesn't agree with the entire platform of either candidate and isn't a single-issue voter. Maybe he's still weighing the relative importance of various issues to him.
I had a picture of the OP pop up on my computer at work yesterday. Dude, I need more of that mango salsa!
I'm voting for the Socialist candidate, Stewart Alexander for President. I might be persuaded to change my mind to vote for Obama if somehow the numbers in California looked like Romney had a chance. If it looked like this state would even be close I would vote for Obama rather than voting for Alexander like I plan on doing right now.
I think a lot of people who are "undecided" have actually decided not vote for Obama or Romney. In essence, that's not really being undecided at all. That being said, I can't bring myself to vote for Obama because his middle name is Hussain and I can't bring myself to vote for Romney because it sounds too close to Rommel - as in Erwin Rommel, the nazi field marshal. As always, I will be writing in my candidate for President: (and I think you see this coming....) Spoiler
You could make that argument, but then reasonable people would laugh at you when you said your alternative was a bunch of yahoos who want to repeal dodd frank and balance the budget by reducing revenues.
This is only true if you are undecided because you don't know each candidate's position. You may also be wanting and hoping for clarification, i.e. the Romney tax plan. Doubtful that stuff like that comes out, but what harm is there to wait and see?
The harm is that if you publicly profess "Mitt Romney has been running for president for 8 years, won't say what his tax plan is, but I'm just gonna wait & see if he's waiting till a few days before the election to show me what he's talking about" you will immediately be targeted by Nigerian e-mail scammers and be bankrupt within 72 hours.
Still, no harm in waiting until election day to decide. It has been a while since one of my African friends has requested my assistance in relocating their fortune.
