You really can't sell the tickets unless the person who sells the tickets plans on accompanying you. They check for ID and make sure the original buyer is one of the people actually going to the show.
This is not true. Louis CK (his promoters, I assume) is going on secondary ticket market websites and buying tickets which are priced over face value. They are then voiding the ticket, refunding the original purchasers money, filing for a refund of their purchase price from the secondary supplier, and then re-selling the same seats with new tickets directly to fans.
