I agree. I've been a Rockets fan since I was a boy, but if I had to use one word to describe my feelings on this whole Comcast thing... It would be "meh." If my carrier picks up the games I'll watch one here and there. If not, I have plenty of yard work, home improvements, and other TV channels to keep me busy.
Yep, same here, if that's how they wanna be then F... them. I'll spend 2.5 hours more time with my kids
This team becomes more irrelevant every season. Now half of the fan base can't watch the games. Glad I got the Texans to follow.
Exactly how I feel NOW. Since I haven't seen a game I don't feel like I'm missing much and I still have days of shows on the DVR to catch up on and it grows every day. I'll watch NBA League Pass on TV when I feel there's a good game, otherwise I have plenty of others things to keep me busy. Everyone involved in this mess can kiss my super white ass. I hope whomever gets my Scola jersey from Goodwill enjoys it.
At least you can watch the Lakers on TV without changing cable providers. Houstonians helped to pay for an arena for a team they don't get to watch on TV. I want my money back.
Isn't Lakers fans going thru the same thing now? Lakers and Time Warners got a deal and some other providers won't pick the channel because of cost.
The Rockets and Astros will lose money if Directv, Dish, Time Warner, Cox, and Uverse do not pick up the channel. Eventually, a deal will get made when CSN lowers its demands.
I got Comcast but I don't care never felt like this before but I'm still upset about the entire Dragic / Lin saga. I'm sure I'll get over it eventually but that's how I'm feeling now. I do like that we've decided to rebuild. I like asik & the young players a lot. Just butt hurt about the farce that is linsanity.
It is hard to get into the team this year knowing that I am not going to be able to watch the games. Just ridiculous! I the know the Rockets aren't the smartest business in the league, but this is beyond stupid. They made a conscious decision to shut out half their fan base.
Because they don't give a rat's a** abut folks like yourself, Batman Jones and myself. Our years of faithfully following this team - in my case decades - don't count for squat or so it seems nowadays. But sadly, it would appear that all that counts for less than squat because they are a monopoly and this is a classic example in how monopolies treat their customers - with total disdain and utter contempt. This is exactly how Crane viewed all of us longtime Astros fans when he flushed away 50 years of tradition for a $60M bribe to move to the AL so it's no wonder that Rockets have joined the Astros in choosing to raise their hind legs on their fan base.
I call my directTV to renew my contract, and I am told that directTV is working with Comcast for the Rocket games. The same case is for the LA fans for directTV because of Timewarner provider. I think directTV and Dish can get the games back, do not know others can.
Any time table? I have been hounding DirecTV for months about it and they keep giving me a run around.
Holy crap that's dramatic. Yeah, it's a business....but it's in their best business interest to have as big an audience as possible. Deals will get worked out with the other providers in the area. Relax.
I would guess around November 3, when NBA starts (Dish got the deal in the last min two years ago as I recall). I do not think they will give us any clear information before they get the deal, but just hope we do not switch the provider.
