Not yet. My friend Google tells me Conley makes 7mil while Jeremy makes 5 mil. Let me introduce the two of you.

Great observation. If Lin can get his legs under him & get confidence in his shot & play like he did tonight over a season the Rockets got a massive steal. Honestly, I would be happy with more assists than points from him (scoring enough to keep the defense honest) . Lin is also a year younger with less experience so there is a lot more room for him to grow we already know that he reached an elite peak that only a few players ever reach the goal would be over a few seasons for him to be that high level player over an entire season. Can he do it who the **** knows. But once again it is all pre-season need to see this against regular season NBA competition.

People need to be patient on the rookies they are still learning. The entire playbook hasn't even been installed yet & these guys are still getting used to NBA sets. It's a process.

Yeahhh!! Lin has been pretty consistent with his low turnovers BUT he is being less aggressive. I hope he is WAY more aggressive come regular season. He also needs to lock himself in a gym and shoot jumpshots everyday for the next week. I'm really liking Terrence Jones and think he needs to be the first to come off the bench. Asik is a beast but needs to not foul out. I feel like he is the most important player on the Rockets.

SOO, the guy making $8mil is "holding his own" against a guy making $7.5mil? Just sayin he should be, that's all.

could've sworn someone was whining about Lin complaining about being tired all last season. still haven't found one instance where Lin "complained" about anything.

    1) Lin is making $5 mil. Srsly bro, Google is your friend.
    2) Lin more than held his own tonight against Conley. 12 assists to 1 in a winning effort. (+4 steals, 5 rebounds and only 1 TO)

My Advice: don't do dis kinda comparison...it shows your lack of knowing the games to those die-hard Rocket fans...and that will cost you being blamed for your less knowledge...

Memphis played a lot of POST plays all the time cause they have big men inside the paint who can score efficiently that we don't have.

That 8.3 mil is what counts toward the salary cap each year over the next 3 years. But he makes 5 mil this year, 5 mil next year, 15 mil year 3

He counts as $8.3 against the cap, and is due $25mill/3yrs. The point is, the bar has been raised.

Die-hard Rocket fans even criticized Lowry two years ago for his three point games...just get used of it...believe in Lin...he will take good care of himself. No need to be too defensive.

Who's supposed to be feeding those big men in the post? Do those not count as assists?

BTW, Gasol and Z-Randolph made all of 5 field goals all game. I'd say the starting point guard not involving his big men (the best players on that team btw) and only racking up 1 assist all game is a problem.

My Advice: Don't condescend to people unless you're 100% sure you're right. kthxbye.

Conley is in the 2nd year of a 5 yr / $40M contract (~8M/yr). Conley has the better contract (5 years v. 3 years), but Lin is paid slightly higher per year so I consider it a wash.

Either way, most people seem to think Lin was signed for his marketing reasons which suggests he won't produce to the level of his contract (i.e. starting NBA PG which Mike Conley exemplifies). I think he will produce to that level and thus the marketing bonus is just going to be an added bonus.

I agree with you and Roxxy, however Lin wasn't "complaining" because he said fatigue is no excuse considering all other teams were in the same situation.

I noticed Lin wasnt getting many hard doubles on him...this game

when that does happen most likely it will be during the regular season

I expect people to be criticizing him for not putting up the same numbers as the opposing guard while facing tougher D

First off, when a player down low has a post game, then more likely than not, the entry pass from the point guard or any other player will not result in an assist.

Second, Gasol and Randolph went 4-13...so if they missed opportunities to give Conley some assists, that falls on the big men, not on Conley.

And lastly, it really doesnt matter where a player was drafted...or how many assists he gets. Looking at one box score to determine a player's impact is, to say it gently, naive. Im not saying that's what's going on here, but debating Conley's impact over a course of one preseason game is pretty much a waste of time.
