His comment was not a reflection of him being "uncomfortable discussing women and minorities." He said "binders full of women" instead of "binders full of women's names." This only caught on because people just need to keep finding reasons to hate the guy.

People catch on to stuff like this because politicians make a living out of catchy phrases rather than discussing serious issues in a serious manner. If politicians, and Romney is one of the worst offenders, didn't spew craps and lies every time they speak on camera, then people would just dismiss it as a slip of a tongue.

Politicians have created today's environment where campaigns are all style and no substance. So they can't complain if they're dying to stupid stuff like this when they promoted such feelings from voters in the first place.

No, it was a perfect example of him being uncomfortable discussing women and minorities.... he wasn't going to answer the equal pay question as asked, so he had to come up with some personal story, and he had so little to work with that he had to discuss a "binder full of women", which he lied about by the way.... he didn't request a binder, it was given to him by a women's interest group....

Romney is comfortable discussing business and the economy, not social issues.

His binders full of women isn't a reason to hate the guy, nor do most people talking about it hate the guy.

It was awkward, and funny, so they are laughing at it. It isn't particularly hateful though.

Again, if Romney would have answered the question and told his position on the Ledbetter bill he would have never even had to talk about it. But instead he has a position that is unpopular and he can't man up to it, so he decided to tell some tale about him hiring women. If he had stuck to the question and talked about policy towards equal pay for women it would have never happened.

Wasn't that an acutal thing in "Big Love", the crazy cult leader would pick his wives from binders full of women?

when Romney was asked how he felt about women in the workforce, he said they need to get home in time to make dinner for their husbands and children.

    real talk.

is there a clip available of what was actually said?

I'm trying to imagine the term 'binders full of women' being used normally in an everday conversation and I just can't see it.

And of course, the point he was trying to make wasn't even true.

The "binders" were together by women's groups, seeking to get more women in high level positions, before the election and were going to present these cabinet candidates to whoever won. Romney didn't seek out these women, outside groups sought him out to bring him these candidates.

Bipartisan political satire (I made more fun of Clinton than Romney, and I basically called Hillary a lesbian) is funny sometimes, no? Chill dudes.

Then we also got the Kenya meme, and the Homeland and Big Love analogies for pure hilarity? Let's not take these comments too seriously.

And admit, this thread's humor potential is higher versus had a professional, black comedian like Another Brother started it. :p

god forbid we should put women in anonymous binders where they can be judged on objective criteria like their accomplishments and qualifications for the job.

    smhis.
