i don't drink everyday. i try not to do it at all but sometimes i fail. if i were sober i wouldn't have posted the thread. i was drunk dialing, so to speak. anyway, i've been with my wife for 12 years and have never cheated on her despite many situations where things have gotten a little too warmed up. until i got married, the only things i was interested in were art, women, and booze. i am impulsive and extreme by nature and it's hard to totally shake that off. i am working on it though. also, we've never discussed it but i'm not sure my wife would have a big problem with it. i actually met her at a bar in brooklyn, found out she had a fiance in europe, soon to join her. he came but things obviously went a different direction than either of them were planning. nothing happened that first night, we just talked about art. we met up a few nights later at an opening, then hung out all night. i started to fall in love with her before i even kissed her.
I've got my own demons, and the wayward puss is definitely hard to ignore, but I can't imagine doing that to my wife and sons. Maybe we aren't wired for monogamy, but loyalty is an underrated quality.
