Judging by how easy it is to get bit, have any of these mo-rans even thought of covering themselves up with something a bit stronger, even duct tape? The present us this group of survivors that are extremely strategic in their approach to killing zombies, but are too stupid cover up and take basic safeguards. If its mosquito-fest out there, I'm not wearing shorts. If its zombie-fest.... yea.
I thought that was pretty ridiculous, too. They have full riot gear that would make them invincible from being bitten, but instead, they put on the flak jackets as if the zombies are wielding AK47s. But then again, if they did that, nobody would die and there would be no drama. Characters pretty much have to be stupid in these shows or it goes nowhere. That's what is frustrating with these series and the writers in that they aren't creative enough to introduce drama without the characters being dumbasses.
It was an example, It doesn't have to be duct tape, but if you were to tie it around numerous times they probably wouldn't be able to.
not only that, wrapping oneself in duct tape seems like it would be terribly uncomfortable and restricting. There are a lot of "what i'd do" thoughts I've had, but wrapping myself up in duct tape has never been one of them...just seems terribly strange and creepy actually.
seriously guys ^ ? I'm sure anybody wearing protective covering thinks its comfortable. Besides, why would you have to put it on yourself? You put it on the clothing. Its just an extremely general example of providing yourself extra protection in the context of simple items they run into all the time but never figured to use.
Heres the thing though, this show is in it's 3rd season and has been illogical and full of plot holes from the beginning. Its something we all should be used to by now.Do any of you really expect things to start making sense all of a sudden ? As I watch at home,I also point out things that are silly or nonsensical,it's all good, but the people who actually act upset over it and threaten to not watch are just taking it way too serious.
To me a big plot hole that I pointed out and is actually more annoying than ammo stuff is the hallway. They leave a sealed section (no way Zombies come in from that way) and walk down a corridor, making turns and marking as they go. Zombies appear in front of them! Oh no! (logical, they are inside the prison) They turn and run back the way they came and...OH NO! Zombies got behind them magically despite that way being clear when they first walked through it!!
I think the ammo issue was handled pretty well this episode and I think it's one of the first times we've seen it become an issue. The protective gear, well they kind of addressed that. They took off the gear from the zombie guards but it was covered in ooze. True they could have found something else by now, but how mobile will that gear keep you and where would they store it. You'd presumably need enough for 4-5 people. The dog food. I'm feeling Rick doesn't want to go down that road just yet. Makes sense, not from a survival standpoint, but from the tone of that particular scene. I did wonder why they didn't conserve their ammo and kill as many as they could through the fence. They probably could have lured all the zombies to it. Then kill as many as they could through fence in the other section. Clear the outer areas first before heading into the dark, narrow hallways. Do it little by little. But it wasn't that big a deal to me.
None of us criticizing the show are threatening not to watch it. It's only you people that don't like us criticizing it as if you don't want to believe this show has its faults.
So you have a prison, with each area completely sealed off from other areas. Why "explore" at all without opening the next area...making a bunch of noise to draw zombies to a choke point, and killing them all there? In the yard, why make a mad dash to the tower at all? Why not just lure them all to the fence and stab them, especially if ammo is short?
It wasn't a mad dash to the tower, per se. The open gate that Rick wanted to close in order to stave off any additional walkers getting into the field was next to the tower. He rushed there first and secured it, then went into the tower, presumably because it was a safer place to snipe zombies from. As for all the chatter about why they can shoot so well now.... again, it's been 7 months. I suspect you'd get really good at this by now, or you'd be dead. The bad headshots were the ones from a moving car at a moving target last season. Now THAT was silly.
Well one post said "I'm done" and seemed really upset, but anyway I don't mind people criticizing or pointing out the shows faults ...Just saying there are almost too many to even count and it's always been that way .... Nobody even brought up the scene where it took Rick 10 huge swings with a hatchet to get through old dudes leg ? Just saying if you let all those little things upset you it will be a little harder to enjoy the show.
The best part was the look on his face AFTER he cut the leg off when he sees the blood. "He's bleeding out!" Way to think there bud.
Same thing happened with Dale last season. He's in an open field, and a zombie manages to sneak up behind him.
Nothing wrong with criticizing the show, but you could figure some of these things out logically. Don't they have silencers now? That should tell you they probably ran into either a firearms shop or a house that was stacked. Its not like silencers are just sold at the corner store. And like someone else mentioned, the riot gear, especially the head gear, was covered in blood and dead tissue from when they stabbed them. They didn't take the helmets off of them first, and even when Rick did take one off, it looked like the skin had melted into the helmet. No one is going to put that on. You might as well just stick your head into their ripped stomachs. As for the "sleeping" walker. It's not the first time they encounter walkers who are down and suddenly "wake up" when they see or hear them passing by. Might seem weird, but they could just be dazed and the lively scent gets them to re-focus. I dont think they cleared every corridor. The only sure clear area was their starting point. It's reasonable to think that some walkers came over from other side corridors when they heard the screams, they emptied into the marked corridor, boxing them in.
