I wish some of the holdout cable providers (Uverse, Time Warner, etc.) would compare Comcast SportsNet to Fox Sports Houston, and if money is that tight, just consider dropping FSN and adding CSN in its place. For me, now that I have CSN (Phonoscope is my provider)... Fox Sports Houston is WORTHLESS. The only value I had out of it were Rockets/Astros games and occasional 30-minute shows centered around the Rockets/Astros/Texans. I think it's safe to assume those are the value to most subscribers, too. Well, CSN now has the games, and the quality of other Houston sports shows is about a million times better than those on FSN. I'm not saying the Rockets/Astros/Comcast aren't partly to blame for driving a hard bargain... but if money is this contentious of an issue, I'd love to hear the providers' rationale for rejecting it while keeping Fox Sports Houston on the main tier. I think there's a lot of bargaining going on with both sides, and each needs to work harder. It's not all on the CSN ownership end.
Is there someone on here who is a really good writer who can put an editorial in the Chronicle about this? It would be especially nice if that editorial called out the Rockets.
If you want to call out the Rockets, go post something on their Facebook page about this. Get enough people doing it, and they're really going to feel the pressure to get a deal done.
I have, and just did it again. But they'll delete the comment within seconds, and possibly block me on facebook. They can't hide from an article in the Chronicle. Also, for those who actually listen to sports talk shows, how about you guys start calling in and bringing this topic up?
True, but it's much easier to get something posted on Facebook than something published in the Chronicle. One thing to do: Post your complaints in their posts about other stories - like Jeremy Lin being in GQ, or Royce White's first game.
I got an e-mail from Comcast today. Because I filled out the form and sent that message, they're now offering me free tickets to tomorrow's game. LOL.
So did I, actually got the tickets and they are not bad seats.......kinda surprised, still pissed over the whole thing.
I just got that email also. Wasn't sure if I should take advantage but why not. I live 10 min away from Toyota center so might as well go
I got the free tickets, as well. Lower bowl, corner, section 111. I've sat there before and it ain't $hitty. Feels dirty to have helped Comcast out in any way, but now at least I can say it was for profit. Now get your stupid little network on U-verse, pronto!
Doesn't matter if you b**** at them by the way. So feel free to b**** at them. I told them to go screw themselves and told AT&T to not give in to these assholes demands.
Same here, lower bowl for the Grizzlies. I hate Comcast, but hey, who's going pass up free stuff
The email I got said you had to have completed the Comcast online form before 9am Sunday October 14. I think you are out of luck.. Got my lower bowl seats as well. Can't pass up free tickets! Wish the scoreboard was on though!
