Season 2 was an unwatchable train wreck, but last night was the best episode of the series

Production values on the zombies are without equal.

The question is are they just going to hang out at the prison all season like they did the farm?

For budgetary reasons my guess is yes, but that doesn't mean it will be bad.

That's how it was in the comic, they are going to use the prison as a base of operations.

Yep, plus the comic version of the prison has some of the most shocking and gripping events of the whole series. I'm very curious to see how they decided to move foward with the show version.

Finally some good old fashion zombie killing. They needed that after last season's snoozefest. Great start for season 3.

love how rick just doesnt care much for Lori. Just pure awesomeness. I hope they get rid of her quick. Looks like the writters saw how much people hated carl and made him a little better by killing and finally listening without crying.

what plot errors do you refer to in last night's season opener?

the exposition was done smoothly- they showed one group had been going in circles and finally found the prison hinted at in season 2, they showed another duo fending for their own throughout a rough winter, but found their limits to be tested and decided to stick together and move on to another area...

the creators have taken control since the original creator left and they are giving the fans what they want and responding to the criticism.

    a silent opener.

a brief convo between Lori and Rick about his choices in which Rick shut down almost immediately...

the characters have grown. the actors might even have been given better material to work with

If you guys had any sort of common sense you would know its been at least 8 months (Lori Preggo) which is plenty of time to become good with a gun and killing zombies.

And a full 8 months to run out of limited ammo. You're not really good at this thinking thing, are you?

LOL can you believe they don't show them tying their shoes in the morning? I mean, ridiculous. How do those laces get tied? HAHAHA! Plot hole!!!!1

How much time do you want them to spend in a hour show with them reloading their guns? Do you want them to make episodes every time they should run out of ammo? Why can't you just accept that they find ammo offscreen? You can accept that they take a leak without seeing it right?

Wise words. They can only fit so much into a 1 hour show. We don't need to see them peeing, and pooing, etc to not know that they are doing it.

When they have established the rules of the universe, they should abide by those rules. Otis died from running out of ammo. They have said ammo is scarce.

If they are going to ignore continuity and use elements to further the plot only when convenient, that ruins the show. Plain and simple.

Watch them run into another ammo problem later this season. I will rofl even more.

My 2 biggest problems among other things were

    1) They just NOW found the prison? At the end of last season, it was just on the other side of the lake. After 8 months of seemingly exploring the entire immediate area, they had never come across this massive building that was just miles from them? I don't buy it.

    2) The whole Hershal thing at the end. Why was he exploring the prison with them in the first place? He was not involved in any of the other hand to hand combat earlier in the episode, he is the only doctor of the group (a group which includes a pregnant woman), and probably the 2nd or 3rd most valuable member of the team. There was no reason for him to go with them, so as soon as you see him tag along, its obvious that something is gonna happen. Not to mention, the sleeping zombie act was a little ridiculous.

    1) The group had to deal with the herd roaming from place to place. Rick and the crew were scheming the map (on the hood of the cars) and stated they had to circle back which probably meant they have discovered the prison during the winter.

is it really so hard to believe that they found ammo along their journey?

really, people? nit picking on the first episode about the most mundane things. I'll stop nitpicking on the nitpicking. it's obvious that this show does this to viewers (who keep viewing after they say they are done with the show)

T dawg almost had a line. Instead, his main part was his "Nod/Grunt" in the opening scene when the other zombies were about to storm the house.

T-dog is the unsung hero of the show. Always in the background, but packs a lot of muscle and zombie-killing power.
