the millions of cells I shed daily from my skin, masturbation sessions and GI lining are no different. Are you seriously trying to make the argument of life existing as a zygote...or even upto the first trimester?
Sigh, you're one of those people who believes that because you have sex once, you consent to all the consequences that could possibly happen. You sound like one of those people who waited until marriage to have sex, and if that's true, I'm very sorry my friend, sounds like a sad life. Tell me: Are you okay with condoms? Are you okay with the pill? How about the morning after pill? Is it okay to masturbate? Why should the brightline be when the two cells join together?
Oh, goodie! Another abortion thread, and it includes a topic never covered before in the 10 years I've been here!! And not covered in the other abortion thread on the forum's front page!! Or in the abortion threads that would stretch to the Moon if one were to do a simple search, if only the words were printed with a large font and paper could survive the effort!! You are just so freakin' COOL!!!!!!!
People try to create a world where they are safe from their own poor decision making. That's all I will say.
Regardless of my position on this topic or many others (of which generally I also disagree with Izak), from his other postings on here it is clear he lives anything but a sad life.... which also has no bearing on when he lost his virginity, btw... just pointing it out. cheap shots not necessary.
That is called human nature. What society does is try to quantify that by creating laws so people can be held accountable for their actions. Regarding abortion, it has to be specifically quantifiable possibilities and I only see two that are not arbitrary: At conception or at birth. As the question was posed, when is it murder? Legally, you can't murder what hasn't been born.
I frequently enjoy straight-faced candor on a topic that applies to like 0.01% of the population just so Republicans can give lip service to "life."
It's heart is beating in the first trimester. Dead skin cells and your semen are quite different. It is too difficult to place a time frame where life begins, because there are a so many ways it can be defined. The first 4 weeks are pretty uneventful, by the the time you get to 6 weeks, a lot has started taking place.
I am going to send my reply before reading what you posted, then I'll see if your articles change my mind. To me, you are taking the risk of getting pregnant by having sex. You are severely increasing those chances by having unprotected sex. When does a life begin? I would say it begins at fertilization. At that point the process of a life has begun, it may be many weeks until a noticeable form appears, but a tiny life is the same as a visible one. I find it a bit unnerving that females act as if abortion is a female only issue, as if the other half of the life doesn't matter. I don't want a kid, but if I ever got a girl pregnant, I don't think I could bring myself to ask her for an abortion, or even cooperate with one. In the end, I don't think there is anything a man could do, but I certainly wouldn't be okay with it. Why should a woman get a free-pass to terminate a pregnancy just because she wasn't responsible? Why don't we teach our kids about the real world. That every action has its consequences. At the same time, I acknowledge that they are legal in the US and every woman, as of now, has the privilege of having one (I feel sick calling it a privilege, but a right doesn't seem reasonable). I don't think it is unreasonable at all for the Government to take a hand off approach and agree not to administer any funds that may go towards providing an abortion. These are things that the people who make these mistakes should have to deal with, not the taxpayers. Even if we will ultimately pay the price in welfare, CPS, and/or any other related costs of the child being born, it is not an excuse to abort a life.
Seriously, he is either trolling or just turned 15 and started that debating topics phase of life. If the OP is sincere, there's a lots of discussion out there already, and easily found.
I use contraception, and will soon have a vasectomy. I already have 4 children, and would love a few more, but my wife has said that 4 is enough. So I'm doing the responsible thing and taking measures to stop my wife becoming pregnant. Rocketsjudoka made an excellent point in the other thread, saying that But too often in this world, we as humans just look for the easy way out, if you look at most of the reasons behind abortion, they are usually selfish self-centred reasons. Every action has a consequence, unfortunately in this day and age many like to shirk their responsibilities. Talking about masturbation is a moot point, it has nothing to do with termination of pregnancy.
